Dellner automatic couplers provide safe and reliable mechanical, pneumatical and electrical connections between rail cars without human intervention.
The units are automatically coupled electrically and pneumatically during the mechanical coupling. The coupler permits coupled trains to negotiate vertical and horizontal curves and enables rotational movements. The units also disconnect automatically via the driver's console, although in emergencies the manual uncoupling handle may be used.
They are equipped with energy absorption devices which absorb kinetic energy during daily train operation such as coupling and braking, and in the event of a rail vehicle collision.
