Imagine making this for however long it took to make this and then showing your friends and they're just like: "Get a job". Seriously though well done that was epic
I remember seeing this a REALLY long time ago. Like, all the way back in ancient times. As such, I think I may be a bit nostalgic towards this random Mario video... but that won't stop me from saying that it still holds up after all these years.
this is way before Mario Maker came out. its using ROM hacks and homebrew level building tools. it was originally posted on NicoNicoDouga which has some other great Automatic Mario creations.
+flamingjd 99 Nintendo didnt make Mariomaker with the capabilities to do this. There are some cool automatic levels, but without the ability to hack the game it isnt possible.
+Knock Yeah there's a real strict limit on tiles and level length. You'd have to be really dedicated to make a full song (multiple levels). Which is where the irony comes in. The automatic music levels are real popular in Japan. Not only does Super Mario Maker not support it but also Nintendo are taking down Rom-hack RU-vid channels. (which were the very inspiration for the game)
I feel like this needed more attention. Especially considering this is what people were doing when Mario Maker came out. I’m surprised this has the view count it does. Super underrated.
This video was my first time hearing "Don't Stop Me Now," and all these years later, I still think of Mario rhythmically stomping Chargin' Chucks to the tune of "have a _good_ time, _good_ time" whenever I listen to the original song.
Bowser:. FINNALY! I MADE THE HARDEST COURSE POSSIBLE! THERE'S NO WAY MARIO CAN BEAT THIS!!! later WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE BEAT IT AND HE DIDN'T HAVE TO MOVE A MUSCLE!?!?
If im understanding it correctly this isn't 4 people playing or something, its all automated. Everything in the levels is designed in a way where all you have to do is hold down whatever button makes you go right, if it even requires you to do that.
Alcsaar0 -_- Making levels like this isn't automatic. You have to actually design them yourself. Do you think the art was computer generated in all 4 of these?
Uh, you said it required coordination between 4 people (implying that they were playing it). It didn't take 4 people to create these levels, it takes only one.
This was insane. Even crazier than the classic SMW auto-level. I can't believe you got the multiple screens to work together with the images like that. Insane stuff dude.
Ladies and gentlemen, RU-vid sucks so much more now. They removed one of the best videos of all time. I am hating this place just a bit more every time they do garbage like this.
***** What in the hell are you talking about? I live in the United States (which, forgive me for pointing out the obvious, is *part of North America*) and I'm watching it right now!
Whenever I find myself losing faith in humanity, I watch this video to remind me of what humans are truly capable of. Props to whoever made this Automatic Mario Level. And thank you Freddie Mercury for making amazing songs like this!
You can't simulate real music with those sounds. The basic idea IS merging both the Mario playing sounds and the music. It doesn't matter if it sounds like crap without the BG music. It was MADE for both of them playing at the same time - and THAT'S what makes it nice.
