Mine is plugged into a USB power supply, so never. The other has a rechargeable lithium battery in it. I know it will run for at least 24 hours without needing to be charged.
When figuring out the code I actually did 5 pin din midi to test everything. Since only some boards support usb midi and I wanted a wired way to test it without having to mess around with all the wireless stuff. So yeah, anything is possible. I think I had it working with usb midi, 5 pin, bluetooth, and finally wifi.
This would be cool if it could be used with Alexa. It would turn on the light and as an example turn off a fan during recording, and turn it back on when the recording stops.
