Before 1947, this road had only a few residential single storey buildings before the GAU SHALA. The rest of the area was open with sandy grounds. Even year, the BASANT MELA was organized next to GAU SHALA. Beyond GAU SHALA was all farming both sides of the river. In Summer times, I used to walk from Neem Wala Chowk to TEEN DIVISION to the river and have a swim. There used to be a few vendors around the TEEN DIVISION. My mother used to bring me here for a hair cut; it was the cheapest (2 annas). It is interesting to know that Budda Driya was also a source of clean sand for construction. Sand was sold by per donkey load. All donkey owners used to live next to SANGLA WALA SHIV DAWALA near Iqbal Gunj. This cane juicer is very hygienic. I hope they wash the sugar canes properly before putting them in the machine. Thanks, Dr. Shripaul Ji
