toolcraft has successfully automated the complex and time-consuming assembly process for a bathroom furniture manufacturer. In order to be able to produce the very large number of variants, it was necessary to develop a completely new assembly concept with three variable presses, five robots and many different feed points for the various components in different sizes and widths. At the same time, the system is able to reproduce batch size 1 and guarantee a high output with a short cycle time. In order to realise individual drawer widths in mm increments, the system can recognise and record the shape and position of the individual parts fed in. Intelligent camera and sensor technology is used for this. This process automation not only saves time, but also ensures the consistently high quality of the manufacturing process.
