This song was remixed for the New expansion album to the Harmony of a Hunter; appropriately named Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run. The original song is from Metroid Prime 2's Sanctuary Fortress. mesmonium.bandc...
I love how they stay relatively close to the feel of the original song while still adding some new layers and texture to the track. The dubstep breakdown is pretty rad too. This is one of my favorite songs on the album.
What I love about this remix, aside from the absolutely gorgeous quality, is the fact that it actually makes it sound pretty scary. It feels like an actual robot apocalypse. The original theme felt high tech-y and neat, but this remix... I don't know if it's the instruments or the way the sound from the instruments reverberates, but it feels like real danger.
Love songs with hyper mechanical feel to them and this is the best of its class in my book. This song is so good made me warm up to several forms of dubstep, a genre a still somewhat despise. But this, THIS is another level! 10/10. Personally It would have been awesome if I got to live in Sanctuary fortress before the Ing.
nicely done there man. i really like it. i never cared too much for sanctuary fortress but this makes something special of it for me. keep up the good work
got that right. and no problem. i'm a huge fan of game remixes. i have playlists full of them, separated by franchise (this definitely made it into my metroid remix playlist. too good to pass up). sometimes i just go out and explore new remixes. most are hard not to like especially when its a theme i really love (like torvus bog theme, for example. it's somewhere in my top 5 fave mp2 themes. so i've got several remixes of that in the playlist. lol)
Controversial opinion here, if I had to pick between ever playing Metroid again or watching any starwars + playing any starwars game. I'd pick metroid .
I got a Dolphin Emulator and played Metroid prime 2 with this remix entering Sanctuary Fortress and its so good! thank you for enhancing my experience!
it has a sweet computer like feel about it that i love. it holds the original composition as the focus but appropriately modifies it to feel more intense. the drum beat at 1:30 is awesome and makes it smoothly mechanical. but the dubstep breakdown at 3:20 just takes it to a whole new level of awesome. This whole composition reminds me of sanctuary fortress + edIT Ants beat.
This is one of my favorite remixes on the Harmony of a Hunter 101% Run album, hands down. I regretfully never finished Metroid Prime 2 because my game glitched out at the point before hopping back and forth between Sanctuary Fortress and the Ing Hive to kill the Screw Attack boss, but I always did enjoy listening to the Sanctuary Fortress song...though I do enjoy this remix more. Seriously, great work.
Definitely one of the best areas in the game. A good friend of mine managed to beat the game in about 8 hours on a weekend because his memory card was corrupted and he couldn't save. Your story reminded me of this.
Being a metroid modder myself, look me up on youtube: ProjectEsia, I can tell you right now the needed tools to replace tracks in prime 2 simply does not exist, and if this man had found out or developed a tool to do so he would have released it, and if he had actually done this before chances are he would also release the patch for it as it would be an excessive amount of work. In short, currently not a feasible task.
Not to mention the way gamecube handles the songs isn't mp3 or ogg or anything common, so it would be complicated as f#$% to even get these tracks to work
yep one of very few boss's I've ever died to in the series the others being Thardus the Omega Pirate Quadraxis Yakuza super metroid Ridley (but who hasn't) zero missions mother brain (I was doing a low % run on hard)
@@hyperwing5374 see now everyone complains about this guy. But I never had a problem with him; dark beam to freeze him in place, then spam holy light into his eye.
@@jamesehlenfeldt7132 boost guardian isn't hard if you know what you're doing...a lot of the playthroughs i see show the player just waiting around in morph ball mode while boost guardian is boosting around the arena. that's probably why so many people thought it was hard. you could just unmorph and jump over it as it boosted while you wait...
I can run through metorid prime 2 on the wii like nothing compared to when I was younger. Pretty much every boss in the Dark World I never lose more than 1 energy tank sometimes 2 but rare
well ya ill pay for this song soon, and ill show what i did in my first video with other metroid remixes from OverClocked Remix to this song's creator, he wont refuse if i can use it :P
It sounds nice and all but there is almost no difference between this and the original. You applied maybe a few filters I hear the cowbell but there is almost no difference in the beginning and some samples are just flat out shortened. I enjoy what you've done with it.
samusdude10 I wanted to keep elements from the original but ended up keeping more than I initially wanted... I could do it better and varied now though
