Hi guys, I am technical sales specialist at Auto Meter. Let me advise... finger tight is not adequate to properly seal this fitting. 1. Cut tubing at an angle, this will allow the ferrule to slide on the tubing with ease. 2. There is no need for superglue, Teflon tape, or any other compound. 3. This is a compression fitting.,.. * For it to seat properly, finger tighten and then continue to wrench tighten until the ferrule compresses, and secures the line.
Thanks for making this video, today I was doing this install and had some diffuculty. Didn't know I had to push the tube into the tiny brass piece. I had to file the end of the tube a little to fit it in. I installed 2 of these gauges on my Evo, one off the turbo, one off the manifold, so I can monitor boost leaks, and currently there is a 5 psi difference.
Push the metal ball to the edge of the tube or cut at the end of the tube and by twisting in the closing turning motion it locks on the tube permanently.
I just took the ferrul completely off and used some teflon tape on the end of the tube thick enough to keep it in there. I couldn't even get the ferrul on the tube the bore wasn't big enough.
I have it cranked all the way tight and it still leaks! Oy vey what a bad setup the line is not the correct size i have same problem even when super tight there is wiggle room ferrul is on correct! Some kits have wrong size hose!
