Haven’t watched this yet but could not agree more with the title of the vid Mike! Really hoping it’s a driving model that can be extended to the other cars because it feels very good.

You talking about the way cars sound in real life is 200% my experience as well. When I went to Petit Le Mans in 2021, hearing the cars coming over the hill and hearing the engine brake echo throughout the grandstands down into the chicane was something else. You always hear about the RSR and how amazing it sounds, but nothing can prepare you for the way they sound in person. Absolute beauty to hear, and it always managed to warm up the grandstands even as the temps dove into freezing. Happy to see another GT3 added. I feel the GT3 and modern prototype classes are severely lacking in AMS2, and those are my two favorite classes.

I think this is a welcome addition to the class and although the slight understeer doesn't fit my driving style, it can be dialed out of the default setup with a few tweaks. Also depending on your style with it being the second heaviest GT3 (currently) when pushing hard the tyres can heat up quicker than some of the others. Thanks for honest content as always Mike 👍🏁

The Nissan feels nice... always good to get another GT3 in the lineup.. I tend to prefer the 911 still. It's the most nimble and responsive through the corners (in my opinion anyway).

If you enjoy offline Racing you cant go past Ams 2 ...Yes Mike you are right about the cars driving more lively but that to me is great it makes them fun to drive .I love ACC but just get bored as the cars are just easier to drive ,a bit Rail like . Plus as you mentioned the weather and Graphic are just to die for .I can give away a little drive realism for that reason. I wish I could get the same In Acc in distance views ...Far to much blurriness even on 2k monitor at 120 to 140hz

The weightless effect can "be done" in 2D, just slowly moving the seat backward. Maybe that is what you are feeling and would be consistent with the real feeling (as the real car would lost some horizontal speed because would exchange it to vertical). The best ARB setting that I found with this car is to make it stronger until you are basically driving a skate lol. Will only need to change a little bit how you enter and exit corners, but will be way faster. And, please, can you change your HUD to that one that shows your pedal inputs? Cheers!

agreed. the shape of this thing still holds up after 10 years or so even in its stock form.. i just recently saw one near me and it was enough to turn my head, even though im looking at it in every sim and its like always the same. Nissan should make a peasant version of this car IMO. Just keep the looks, help them get by in difficult times u know... The fact its a 10year old car and its still competitive in gt is just mindbogling, and a testament to how ahead of its time it was when they released it. Hopefully ill find more time to play with this one in AMS, eventhough theyre big and bulky in most sim.s..

Interesting, I actually turned down the TC and ABS quite a bit and increased toe out a bit, because the car otherwise feels sluggish. It made me shave off a few seconds on SPA

what is missing in ams2 are things that motivate using this content, there is a lot available and practically nothing to do. I expect an online mode that is really interesting and something along the lines of lfm maybe

14:00 I’ve had that same experience with seeing Group 5 cars, Group C cars, and a GT40 MkI at a historic event at Barber Motorsports Park. RU-vid videos and racing sims simply don’t do those cars justice in terms of the “wow” factor.

It’s the multitude of senses overload at a real race. You’re excited to start with, but then add sound (including feeling the sound not just hearing it), the sights, the smell - it all adds up to a visceral overload. It would be one hell of a sim setup if you could capture all that.

I hear you on the visuals and audio from sims vs real cars. But as for the audio, you’d need to run it through a proper sound system, preferably with something like Klipsch Heresy speakers with a subwoofer planted directly behind the drivers seat to get close to reality. That might actually bring it to life though.

I was really excited to see the GTR- GT3 added to the title.....than I tried the base setup and was a bit disappointed. ABS and TC don't work properly, front and rear end lateral grip lack compared to other titles, under steers like a boat. Looks and sounds good tho!

Great vid. Amazing graphics, but one question for everyone, is it me…or do others also feel they are the slowest moving cars in the sims… I feel like it was almost played between slow motion and normal motion speed. Just curious… amazing graphics and game as said, just felt the cars were going slower than I feel they should have been moving… thoughts?

08:13.359 is the current top time for the Nismo in AMS2 the actual WR in game is 07:59.745 in the Porsche, right now the only car slower than the Nismo is the BMW... OFC the main issue with the in game times is the tendency to run a closed radiator/brake ducts and 1l fuel load so they're not truely representative as whilst the damage and random failures are on in TT mode you can get lucky and make a lap without killing the car, Reiza need to address this imo...

Isn't the famous, crazy Porsche 911 at the Nordschleife called the "Yellowbird"? It seems like the scenery at the Nordschleife is good for filling dead air. Now, if only we could get corner sequences like that on newer circuits. I'm sure Bellof had an "interesting" sensation there when he flipped his Porsche 956. I find it to look tall and kind of ungainly. I definitely prefer the wide-body GT500 version. I admit it, I'm much more in the new Toyota Supra camp in terms the of aesthetics. I don't know, I don't think the Corvette C8 makes the previous generations look bad. Now don't imitate Jann Mardenborough there at Flugplatz, in the Nissan no less. Actually, with video, it's more like, at least in some settings, the playback quality has gotten so good that it throws people because reality simply doesn't look that good. So at least in some respects, the visual component can now, in fact, be "too good". Also, like, our eyes, or brain, or whatever, really can't see in 60 fps, let alone higher frequencies.

To me the GTE class blows the GT3 class out of the water in AMS2. The GTE Porsche and Vette are probably my two favorite cars in the game. GT1 class and some of the Group C cars are great too.

I personally think AMS2 in a few ways has a graphical advantage over mentioned Sims. Sound and physics needs a bit of work on the cars could put it ahead of the pack in my opinion.

For what it is worth....Jimmy recently did a video rating all the racing titles from simulation to arcade. AMS was ranked simulation.....AMS2 was Simulation-ish

@@davidslute9546 Yeah, I saw it. I like Jimmy's content a lot and I tryed the demo myself a couple months ago (didn't like it so much...) But I noticed a lot of new content and updates for AMS2... I have a lot of faith and respect for Reiza so I started wondering if it was getting better as a simulator.

Hope AMS 2 will be a good replacement of rFactor 2. After the Virtual LM dramma now everyone finally realised it's a dead game. AMS2 is also buggy but at least far more promising. Though I have to admit the biggest problem is that AMS 2's dedicated server system is also a piece of s**t and connection stability is even worse than rF2, this is not very urgent as currently AMS2 is still very unpopular with very few playing and fewer playing online. But reiza obviously need to improve its dedicated server (I mean completely rewerite the shit mountain created by Project CARS team) before player number starts to increase significantly

It depends on what time you're active. I find that the servers are quite active in the evening, but there are certain times of day/night where the serves are essentially dead. It also depends on where you live.
