I love the way both of your pieces turned out! Gouache is a totally different kind of paint, and it translates really beautifully in your style! ♥ The color palette is really lovely.
Weren't you all excited about some Holbein gouaches not long ago..? If you managed to make such a pretty drawing with Reeves' student stuff, I'd love to see you work with Holbein's! (And fill up that sketchbook!! XD )
It's actually better to use acrylic brushes with gouache rather than watercolour brushes if you wanted it to be more opaque. Since watercolour brushes are meant to hold more water. Lovely piece btw! 💕
This drawing is so beautiful. I've been waiting to see the finished product since I saw it on instasnap. Now I need to invest in some acrylic brushes because my gouache is usually too watery.
Ahh thank you!! I really suggest looking in to some super cheap ones that say they are multipurpose for acrylic, watercolor, etc, because they have soft bristles without being scratchy!

I really like the colors that you both choose. It is a really pretty drawing. I have the Gouaches from Reeves too, so I can practice with them and see if I like them enough to get better ones :D

Lovely painting! I've been meaning to start painting with gouache ever since I got my reeves set, but now I sorta wish I invested in a better gouache brand. It does the job though :) how much water did you use in the process?
I used very little water, maybe a couple drops in each little palette circle to make the paint more gel-like. With reeves you almost need to paint straight from the tube to keep it most opaque. Maybe in the future you can look in to turner or holbein gouache!
