It's Autumn in Amsterdam in the Netherlands as we take a free walking tour of Amsterdam November 2023. Amsterdam is in the Netherlands or some refer to it as Amsterdam in Holland. The city of Amsterdam Netherlands is a city of canals, bikes and unique atmosphere. Join me for a virtual stroll through the colourful and picturesque streets of Amsterdam in Autumn time along with its historic tree lined canals. Amsterdam city is centered around a half-moon-shaped network of canals that were dug to extend the medieval city centre back in the 17th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It had been a while since I last went. I enjoyed the weekend and it was a little chilly at times. The food was good and enjoyed the pancakes with cinnamon ice cream. Perfect time it looks like - not cold not hot plus some autumn color The brick streets, the canals and most of all the bikes! I have to wonder how they were so successful in becoming a bike city and if others could duplicate the success. Wow I love this. Amsterdam, a city of cultures, quirks, canals and contradictions. The walk was beautifully filmed. I walked those streets and many more as well. Historically and architecturally renown. A tourist walhalla. The canals, the house boats, the small alleyways leading to mysterious places, the many shops and diverse eateries. You sure had a wonderful day and the sun shone on those golden leaves. Nice to see this city through your lens Paul. The reason people refer to it as Amsterdam in Holland is that it is in the province Noord-Holland. Rotterdam is in Zuid-Holland. Completing Holland. The Netherlands consists of 12 provinces in total. Hi Anita, I really enjoyed my time in Amsterdam and in was glorious in the short lived Autumn sun. I made the most of it. The old leaning buildings and architecture were quite the sight. A great time to visit with the tree lined canals. I also sampled some of those eateries. The food was great. Thanks for enlightening me on Holland and Netherlands. I always thought they were the same thing being an ignorant Brit 🙂 I hope to visit the Hague some time soon as there is a parkrun that begins with the letter "Z" so it helps me complete alphabet. Hi Paul. Beautiful autumn Amsterdam cityscape. Amazing buildings and canals. It seems like a very comfortable and peaceful town. I have been to Schiphol Airport many times for transit, but I have never been to the city of Amsterdam. It was great to be able to see the cityscape in this video. Is it possible to travel from the airport to the city center by train or bus ? Thank you for wonderful sharing 😉Juli 💕

Hi Juli, I have been thro Schipol Airport myself but this time stopped off there. I'm glad you enjoyed the views. It was a great time to go with the tree lined canals. You can indeed get from the airport to the city by bus or train. I may have a video on that in the future. Thank you very much for taking time to watch 👍🙂Paul

Nice walkabout Paul, I've been to Amsterdam seven times, used to be where I'd go and chill for a few days back in my Bob Marley days 😂 lucky we don't have smell-o-vision else the viewer might have got high off the fumes 😂 looks like you got great weather and the trees were a beautiful colour

Hi Matt, it had been a while since I had been. It sounds like you liked to really chill out back in the day 😂 I did smell the weed quite a lot. I was lucky with the weather for a few hours as the cloud came in that afternoon but I made the most of the sun. Thanks for watching 👍🙂Paul

Hi Paul This walking tour definitely brought some talk in the chat So many bikes...the city has beautiful scenery and boats along the river that probably is polluted surrounded by so many buildings. Sorry no hills for you to are excites about. The building seem to be historic or just old structures??? Some of churches are stunning... Fascinating to witness, not many modern architecture is not around. Are those PPL on the streets residents??? visitors?? I cannot distinguish... Very interesting tour...Thank you so much for taking me to the country I have never been to I cannot wait for next one form here??? hahah Stay Warm

Hi Ms Kayak, yeah the chat banter was a bit more than usual. I thought I'd put an Amsterdam video out before I start getting properly into my Germany and Austria videos. Even tho there were no hills I enjoyed the walks along the tree lined canals and the architecture. Some of the houses are over 500 years old. I saw one said 1520 on it. There were some beautiful big churches there but the main one was having work done on it so didn't get chance to see it properly. I think the people on the streets will be a good mix of residents and tourists. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour. I have another 1 or 2 to come from Amsterdam but it may be after all my other stuff from Germany and Austria but may sneak one in mid way. Thanks very much for coming along for the premiere. amsterdam is definitely on my list of places i'd like to visit. love seeing so many bikes everywhere. but it's the netherlands so i wouldn't expect anything else. so many gorgeous buildings. did you ride the tram at all? you ever watch anything about the houseboats and such along the canal? we got hooked on some narrowboat channels during the pandemic and still watch some alternative living things that feature them. what was the big green thing 19 min in? again with all these questions. lol! cheers paul! 🛴❤

Hi Anne, you should do if you get the chance. This was my 3rd or 4th visit there but the last one was about 15 years ago with work. There were so many bikes but not many scooters. I didn't ride the tram but the transportation system there is pretty good. I've not watched any houseboats stuff but I actually live a couple of miles from a canal built in around 1760. I could do tons of videos on just my home town and area. Get the narration voice going 🤭 In fact one of my cycle routes (well when I do dig the bike out) is along an old railway line and then down the canal. Perhaps one day I will go out and film it. The green things looked like storage containers. I'm not sure what they were doing there. Perhaps some maintenance work. Thanks very much for watching and the inquisition 😂👍🙂 Paul

Hi Paul! A lovely wander around the beautiful city of Amsterdam ❤ It was great to see the gorgeous Autumn colours on a nice, sunny day. I loved seeing the attractive historic buildings along the streets and by the canals. It was relaxing to listen to the sounds of the city as you strolled along. You captured it all beautifully.
