Me too, me too. It was about a week ago one of thier songs popped up on my playlist by chance. I didnt know who it was at the time, but when I checked, I was amazed. The song came off some record label's sampler. I didn't like it at first, so I just ripped the songs to mp3 and put them on the playlist. I find it funny because I woul dhave overlooked the song otherwise if it weren't on shuffle. :O
You have the right idea. I like this and Green Day. But I also like electronic, classical, and hip hop. There's a lot of stuff out there and if you are only listening to music because your friends do and you want to fit it, maybe your friend have a limited taste in music.
Labels are important, they slice things into meaningful detail. After all, a steak is just a cow until you cut it up. As for this music? "Ethereal" should prolly be used in the genre somewhere. As for me, idk, but it really is pretty, isn't it?
Some of the smoothest sounding bass tones I have heard in a while! Her voice is really sweet when she is in her range. The guitar is OK, but not remarkable as its all chorus pedal, still nice that they didn't try to drown her voice out with too much synth like a lot of pop sounding Goth bands do, best to stick to basics if you have a singer with an attractive voice like hers.
@birinbirinbirin Unfortunately she wasn't there this time I went on vacation :( The main reason we couldn't talk a whole lot is because it was Nascar racing time and the mall was extremely crowded, so she had to tend to customers and we couldn't talk much. But she did like KMFDM and various other industrial bands I like. It's good to know that I don't live too far away from a young community I can relate to however :)
@CooNProductioNs I think you are on the right track. At the start you can see he's strumming once but the strum is heard twice. So, a single echo on the eighth note. Plus chorus (not too much) and an open tuning? Seems like there are some nice sus notes in the strum. And generous reverb, but on the bright side? (BTW, ever hear Eno/Laraaji? Some nice & subtle processing mixes there as well--I'm reminded of...) Beautiful, beautiful song! Thank you AGSmusic, looking forward to CD purchase!
@TheKeeper421 & birinbirinbirin (the name sounds Australian Aboriginal. Is it?) - I love the convo u guys had! BTW I'm 32 and I'm at the stage where if someone has any kind of issue with me based on the music I love, e.g. AGS, Lycia, stuff em. I actually started to feel that way at 18 (I still remember the exact moment - it was 3:37am). There is way too much out there and your time is too precious to associate in any way with people who just aren't like you. No, I do not like Green Day.
@birinbirinbirin I live in Georgia...so you can imagine the extent to which it lacks diversity. Country, popularized emo, only the most mainstream goth scenes, mainstream pop, rap...that's pretty much all the dominant cultures and music around here. Subculture types of pop are unknown, only stuff like Lady Gaga and Kesha is known. Everyone I talk to knows nothing of Shoegaze or Industrial. Subculture has no foothold whatsoever here. Fortunately, we border Florida which has plenty of diversity.
@birinbirinbirin But hopefully when I get the chance to move, I can find the resources and like minded individuals who can help ensure the prosperous survival of great music like this for several more generations :)
