Avantasia is the metal opera project of Tobias Sammet ,from the German band Edguy. (You've heard him before, in Ayreon's The Day That The World Breaks Down). Formed in 1999, they have a few core members, and use guest singers and musicians. This song is from the 2019 album, Moonglow. Guest vocalist here are Hansi Kursch(Blind Guardian) and Norwegian Jorn Lande(Jorn). The current album from 2022 , A Paranormal Evening with the Moonflower Society ,has 2 songs featuring Floor Jansen that you will probably want to check out. 'Misplaced Among the Angels' and 'Kill the Pain Away'.

Omg! Thank you for checking Avantasia out! That's quite a rabbit hole for sure 😉 A classic Avantasia song to check out would be "The Scarecrow (the flying opera) live" or "Farewell" live from Wacken! Tobias did two songs with Floor Jansen on his current album. "Misplaced among the angels" (which is the most epic song in my opinion) and "Kill the pain away". Both really worth checking out such as "Moonflower society"

The creator of Avantasia, Tobias Sammet, is very much like Arjen Lucassen in the sense they draw other artists in to their projects! And this is my favorite! The composition, phrasing, arrangement and SOARING vocals are stellar! You'll likely hear more from both male vocalists, Hansi Kürsch and Jørn Lande as lead singers of their respective bands BLIND GUARDIAN and JØRN. You've heard Hansi already from your AYREON reaction. That's what I love most about these bands and genres. Collaborations make for excellence. These guys are the real deal!👍

OK - now that you have had a taste of Hansi, you gotta dive into his band - Blind Guardian! They have a huge catalog that covers multiple genres, but a good starting point is "The Bard's Song / Valhalla" Live at Waken. Gives a good taste of what they can do

Great song, but there is one song from Avantasia which is absolute masterpiece is The 7 Angels. 14 minutes of pure joy. (btw, that song is foriddn to play in my car while I am driving ) My right leg becomes VERY VERY heavy

Finally some Avantasia!!! This latest album is great stuff, obviously the Floor collabs are great but there are many other bangers and beautiful collabs. I like the Moonflower Society feat Bob Catley as well.
