Johannes Eckerstrom is one of the best singer live perfomer, the role he play with the make up and the costume is perfect. I recommand to react to Smells Like a Freakshow from the same live and Colossus form their brand new album.

I've seen them live a few times. Great live band. Frontman Johannes is the next in line after Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson. First time I saw them was at a festival in the Netherlands. His first words to the crowd were " We are Avatar and we've come to steal the show." They did too!

"The king welcomes you to Avatar Country" :P Nice that you two tried Avatar - this band never disappoints. They played many styles of metal with every album - from feathers and flesh (art book, a thorough story with an extra book), black waltz + hail the Apocalypse with darker songs, Avatar Country with fun songs and their newest hunter gatherer with heavy and emotional songs. I would recommend Puppet Show (fun song) live at Po'land Rock, because the singer (Johannes) does something new for the show ^^ One of their all-go songs they perform is paint me red and their most epic song is called let it burn, where the vocalist hits the high notes. Every band member is very specialised with their Instruments - the drummer (John), the guitarists (Tim + Johan alias Kungen + Hendrick with guitar and sometimes 2nd vocals) and of course their vocalist (Johannes), who can hit low and high notes with clean voice and scream and growl heavy - their windmills are most epic as well^^

This is such a fun powerful band! The first song I listened was A statue of the king and I was hooked

I was lucky enough to see Avatar live last year in a smaller venue. Small venue is key. If you love their music and their persona, wait until you see the experience you get when you go to one of their headlining shows!!! So good, so creepy, so quirky (creepy circus tent, carnival games, and meeeeeessed up carnival tunes as you wait for thr act to start hahaha) ..... without a doubt the most memorable show I've been to in YEARS. Also, pretty B.A. way to start off thr show.... guitarist rose from under the stage sitting on a throne dressed as a king Frick'n EPIC P.s. I was there with my bro to also see thr opening act "Dance with the Dead", I was lucky enough to find both band members at thr back of the audience when Avatar was playing so I got a picture with both of them.... i played the "selfless card" and kept my flash off so I wouldn't draw unwanted attention to them, picture was barely viewable lol.

They are from my hometown here in Sweden and we Sweds kick some ass .

Seen them live multiple times - never a bad show, always great performers! Their previous two albums, Feathers&Flesh and Avatar Country were both 'concept' albums; F&F a series of fables-as-songs telling the story of an owl who goes to war against the sun, and AC as a...well, I don't know how actually to describe that one except to say that I was so 100% on board with it's gleeful nonsense that I backed the Kickstarter they did to make a film of the album and am therefore officially a Countess in the Royal Court of Avatar Country I have a signed decree and everything. Actually, 'gleeful nonsense and crushing riffs' is a pretty good description of Avatar! :D Further song suggestions (live is great, but their music videos are super fun and interesting): Bloody Angel, to hear Johannes (lead singer) really show both his singing and screaming The Eagle Has Landed, because vaudeville circus conmen The King Welcomes You to Avatar Country, because heavy metal country fusion is apparently a thing Silence in the Age of Apes, the lead single of the newest album, Hunter//Gatherer, because it's heavy like Hail The Apocalypse (and I just don't trust that teddy bear) ...and I'm going to stop there because otherwise I'll basically be shrieking "best band is best!!!" and shoving their whole discography at you :D . . . . . ...although Raven Wine is a great -ing song, and I don't know why I like Wormhole so much but I dooooo (and I'm also preeeetty sure that my coworkers are going to pitch something at my head if I don't stop absently singing the chorus)

I have seen Korn, Slipknot, Ghost, Disturbed, Volbeat, Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie.... etc. at festivals over a few years. My absolute FAVORITE concert remains the 4-5 times I've managed to catch Avatar live. Especially the time I saw them with Helzapoppin

That opening guitar riff gets me every single time. It's just an open string and wammy bar but my god it's done so perfectly!

What's crazy is the band was already 14 years old by the time this was filmed, and now we're nearly another ten years since removed from it and they're finally starting to get their flowers! Number one on the billboard, about friggin time!

I saw them open for Babymetal in 2018 in Detroit. Instantly a fan after the first song (Hail the Apocalypse). Awesome live band! Do more... "Let it Burn Live at Sticky Fingers" is crazy cool. You'll love it.

I love that band... Metal from Sweden with all good musicians and singer!!! I love subjects of songs which speak about love and society!!! Riff are always new.... They've make an a capella version of "Star Bomba", amazing... Try Tsar Bomba in live, Black Waltz, Statue of the king and lot of of others songs from that goddess band!!! Johannes Eckerström probably the best Live screamer out there right now. Not once during his performance did he Palm Mute On The Mic. People who don't know what that is means... the vocalist will completely cover or palm the Mic so his screams sound more distorted. Amazing Vocals!!!

They are one of the most underrated bands currently.

OMG... Awesome! I'd pretty much given up requesting Avatar. Sonny was the only 1 to give them a shot. This band has been my complete obsession for not quite a month. I have to have my 'fix' multiple times a day, lol. They are SO sorely underrated imho that I want to be a spokesperson for them or something. They are the complete package. I haven't loved a frontman as much as I do Johannes, since Freddie Mercury. The only bad live performances I've come across were bad because of an individuals' phone capabilities, not the bands. Their videos are also epic... they put as much work and detail into what they create visually as they do in their sound. True musicians and artists. All the previously recommended songs won't disappoint. (I 'found' them via Two Rocking Grannies, when they reacted to their live performance of "Bloody Angel" at PolandRock). Wait til you hear what else Johannes can do with his voice. And, if you just want to watch something incredibly fun and funny, check out their in-car 'performance' of Tsar Bomba on Auto Capella. (It gets funnier the more you watch it, too). Thanks for a great reaction to an amazing song & band!!
