my favorite part of the entire show so far, is whenever iroh asked zuko, “do you have a plan?” and zuko goes onto rant about how his plan is his honor and stuff, iroh says “so no plan?” “i’m working on it uncle” 😭

Paul is so well spoken, It's so inspiring listening to him speak about his experiences on the set. Really gives Iroh vibes...

I’m remembering back to when they cast Gordon that so many people were like “He looks tiny! He’s too young! Him and Katara will be so weird!” They obviously don’t know that puberty is a thing. Haha. Kid has shot up and sounds completely different! Gonna be taller than Sokka and Zuko by season 3. 🤣

Dallas and Paul nailed it!!!! They are their characters. I was totally immersed with them. Incredible performances. Honestly how the show handled all the fire nation characters is just chef’s kiss!! Perfect! 🔥

The airbenders defending and fighting made me cry. Knowing they are pacifists and only tried to defend themselves. The kid airbenders trying to hide and monk gyatso die trying to save them… oh my gosh. Aang’s last flashback with Monk Gyatso just broke me. It was such a strong and sad opening to ATLA.

BRO!!!! The Iroh casting is the best casting choice, and it is perfection. Kiawentiio's Katara is no doubt gonna be the best one this Thursday.

They're all so wholesome and sweet oh man my inner child is healing! What Daniel said about them genuinely being a family was so sweet too.

I cried so many happy tears when we found out that Paul was cast as Uncle Iroh. He is absolutely perfect for the role.

I loved the cast. Yes, they are new and sometimes their acting got shaky, but since they are young I can give them time to perfect their craft. I love Aang (and that he’s half Filipino). They are really likable. Katara’s voice was super crucial to me because she’s always had a soothing, calming, motherly, yet young and strong voice… and they did get it right! Aang was super cute and I just always smiled watching him. Zuko and sokka were good too. I cried hearing “leaves from the vine” instrumental. ❤ I see they meshed some episodes together, but I really like it.

Please be good I love the cast soo much. at this point I want it to be good not for me but for the cast😂

I know lots of people were not happy that the original writers weren't going to be part of this project BUT maybe that was for the best...As Dante Basco says to Dallas in their character conversation interview, "it's your turn". It is their turn. and they are fully aware of how much the show means to people. I honestly had my doubts. but now i'm rewatching the show for a 4th time. Its is done well and is very respectful to the original story

i didn’t realize Daniel Dae Kim was in ATLA, but as soon as Ozai came on screen I was like “those cheek bones… that voice…. Dr. Han???” Amazing that google doesn’t even list Kim or Ozai in the cast of ATLA. I had to read an article to confirm it was him 😂 Kim being cast as Ozai is just perfect, he is both physically perfect for the role and his acting and experience is top knotch. It’s kinda wild to see him in such an aggressive and evil role though, but I’m happy it’s him!

This is very encouraging, because idk if any of the cast or the director m night shyamalan even tried to stay true to the original story 😬😬 here theyre actually careful in attention to detail, the whole crew on the show are fans themselves, so they really want this to be good and be true to Avatar 👍🏼

It sucks that they’re under a microscope and probably seeing such much negativity right now with our fanbase that had such high and specific expectations. Kiawentiio says she always loved this show and grew up with it but she is receiving a lot of backlash now for not being as connected to the group or motherly. Hopefully people take a step back and realize that this is not her intention. If it comes off that way that she’s either being directed poorly or not being caught on film in the best light.

I just finished all 8 episodes and I love it 🥰 the changes they did make, made sense to me and didn't bother me at all! They could have given Sokka, Katara and Zuko colored lenses xD and I would have loved to have more episodes, but thats all xD

The casting is 99% spot on, the acting is great, visuals could be a little better.. but it's good enough. Hopefully two more seasons will arrive. Netflix would be INSANE not to keep this show going and potentially make Legend of Korra next (or an original story).

Aside from the 4 lead casts, I was really amazed of the acting of Iroh, I really like it when he is on a scene, would like to watch more of him... Also Zuko's father, Jet and Suki... They did not fail on this live action, same with One Piece

1st 2 episodes I was like....it's ok....3 and 4 I was like ok this is getting better. 5 and 6 it got alot better and gave me something new. I'll watch 7 and 8 tomorrow I'm excited for it.

I went trough all the steps of grief while watching the show, it was hard to watch it but I don't regret it, in the end they did pull it off but wow what a wild ride it was and the CAST is AMAZING!!! Like I can not stress how good the cast is, my biggest issues has been dialogue and story telling that at moments didn't make much sense because it was just phrases from the original show in a setting that didn't work but after getting over the timeline changes and just accepting it's an alternative universe of at avatar universe it then became fun an exciting and my favorite dynamic duo is Iroh and Zuko but my surprising new favorite character is gran gran, she made me laugh out loud each time on screen yet her acting was stellar it's such a weird paradox but love her. I am happy the second part of the series did tie up some of the story line issues with the first few episodes and I think the characters new interpretations have been made clear so it will be easier moving forward with it an I'm actually looking forward to season 2 which I'm surprised about. I think if you are going to remake the show might as well make it different but with elements that feel natural and that they belong and elements that are missing and this show actually did that and that makes it worth it otherwise what's the point the cartoon is already a masterpiece. I think you can feel some hesitation in some of the first episodes in some actors but it slowly faded away in the end of the show and now they just got to run with it they got this. I'm honestly impressed. (the writers need a little wiping though actors can only work with the material that is given to them). Suggestion get beafy buff guy in Toph gear in the scene when we meet Toph it would be hilarious lol

Ngl the writing for this show is slightly iffy. But certain scene between uncle iroh and zuko, actually brought tears to my eyes🥹. Nonetheless they better improve the writing and pick the perfect toph for season 2
