So sad that James Horner won’t be able to be a part of the nest Avatar films. I thought he did great with this soundtrack. “Shutting Down Grace’s Lab” always gave me chills. R.I.P. James Horner
I'd also add that at 2:38 it definitely sounds like it hints at the main theme from this film. It's just a shame that I saw the Sideways video where he explained that Horner & co basically created a new musical culture for this film - except that Cameron didn't want any of it, so Horner instead wrote a more traditional Western score with heavy midi overdubs It doesn't make this any worse of course, but one wonders what could have been...
Bruh i cant believe ppl still believes that rumour, jim, horner and the rest of the execs agreed that the music sounds too alien, jim wasnt the only one making that perception
Awesome work! Fascinating to see this written out. Even though it's fairly simple, I loved his chord progressions/ modulations. Always gorgeous. More Horner, please!
Love James Horner, but this sounds so bland to me. Uninteresting to say the least. Just like the movie, IMHO. But I still love this channel for putting it out. Tks so much.
That's because it's Horner doing Zimmer LOL...but I still enjoy hearing this style with Horner's signature danger motif and "genius" chord progressions (very similar to my ear with what he did in A Beautiful Mind, etc)
I feel so honored to be the first comment. All of my hard work and dedication has paid off. Getting the first comment has been a dream of mine for many years, and I would like to thank those who have helped me along the way. First and foremost, I would like to thank God for giving me this opportunity. Next I would like to thank my parents. I want to thank my friend Peter Griffin for being really skinny and always there for me. I would also like to thank my pet tadpole for surviving against all odds for over a week. Next I would like to thank the squirrel that lives in my backyard for climbing trees because that gives me inspiration that I need to get through the day. This is a special moment in my life and I would like to thank any of my unmentioned friends and family that have helped me along the way. This moment will be a moment that I will never forget. I just remembered a few other people I would like to thank; Abraham Lincoln, the fish I caught in the third grade, my light in my room because I wouldn't be able to see the keyboard without it, the internet for letting me go on the bodybuilding forums, my house because without it I would be homeless, and last but not least, I would like to thank all the people out there that actually took time out of their day to read this. I cannot stress how much of a big deal to me this is. I have been trying to be the first on a post for years, but that has not been possible until this amazing day. Hopefully my good luck will continue, but this is undoubtedly a rare occasion. If you asked me how I did this, I would say, you can achieve anything you set your mind on. To all the kids out there reading this, I would like to tell them to follow their dreams. Being the first is truly amazing, thank you everyone.
James Horner may not be scoring Avatar 2 but Simon Franglen will do a great job trust me if not me trust the words of Conrad Pope who had this to say when I talked about Avatar 2 "I miss James, too. As to AVATAR 2, I encourage everyone to hold off judgement. Simon Franglen is an AMAZING musician, a PROTEAN composer and a solid professional who never fails to deliver. Simon is going to “ knock this OUT OF THE PARK”-my opinion. I think fans will be astonished and gratified- again, my opinion."
