not really, aang starts out at 12 a master air bender but unable to bend any other elements unless he's in the avatar state, over the course of a year he mastered waterbending became reasonably competent at earth bending and capable of fire bending but not especially good at it. korra at 12 was already able to bend 3 elements and had already mastered 2, so she would be starting off with more skills than aang had, and given the same incentives could certainly have mastered fire bending and at least learned airbending in a year too. the only real advantage aang had was that he started with the avatar state, aka built in deus ex machina, and korra didn't.
@@wgs5643 oh yeah, aang who started with 1 element was clearly in a better position than korra with 2 mastered and 3 she could bend, that makes perfect sense.
@@yamiyomizuki And yet despite that it took her longer to become fully realized, she’s lived a very sheltered life, has not consistently won fights, is very easy to manipulate, little to no true fighting experience or any experience as she’s the only Avatar to not travel the world and grew up in a compound which honestly screwed her over imo
@@wgs5643 it took her longer because she had longer. aang wouldn't have progressed nearly as quickly if he hadn't had to, in fact he would have almost certainly gone far slower. actually considering that he tried to run away from being the avatar it's unlikely he would have ever willing become fully realized. started with no real fight experience and had been equally sheltered. he won more consistently in large part because he didn't face enemies nearly as strong until way later. for comparison asng started of dealing with zhao and zuko, whereas korra's first enemy was a blood bender. even then pretty much all of his significant wins required the avatar state, which is the only significant advantage he had, a built in deus ex machina is a great equalizer. korra is easily manipulated but aang isn't much of a strategist either, he's slightly better but he benefited heavily from having someone else do most of the actual thinking on his team.
He molywaps them that simple He resisted Amon's father he can resist Amon Unaloq without being a Dark Avatar is a wash Zaheer is an inferior airbender Kuvira may be a bit of trouble
@@wgs5643 it really depends on his age. resisting yakone was adult aang using the avatar state, 12 year old aang got rag dolled by hamma and hamma wasn't even good. unalaq without vatu would get stomped but with vatu would be just as effective against aang as against korra. zahir would be absolutely annihilated but the rest of the red lotus would be a challenge. kuvira would probably lose unless they are in a metal structure in which case she probably wins.
@@yamiyomizuki He didn’t know what was happening, Korra was in and out if the Avatar state for some reason Aang doesn’t do that, Korra didn’t fight the rest of the lotus as much so idk if we can count that but yeah Zaheer is literally garbage in the face of a real Air-bending Master Tenzin would’ve destroyed him one on one, Air-bending is lethal in closed spaces she could get tossed around and Aang is pretty quick but outside open area she gets mollywoped
