This is Schubert's 'Ave Maria' and it’s one of the most amazing tributes to Mary and Christ's birth. It was arranged by Marshall McDonald, especially for me and the Lyceum Philharmonic. I think it brings a lush, current sound to the two hundred year old composition and evokes the divine in each of us. What's really cool is that all these kids are only 14-18 years old and it only took a day to film. They have chosen to spend their time and talents making music that inspires and helps them see the good in themselves and the world around them. I love collaborating with such awesome people and can hardly wait for us to do another one!!

I'm in this symphony and it was hard to sit in that barn for 5 hours and not really be in the video, but it all became worth it when I saw the finished whole. It's so beautiful and I'm honored to be able to play in this orchestra. Merry Christmas everyone. 🎄 🎻 🎺 #musicforlife

I see comments from 4 years ago so I'm obviously not behind the 8-ball here in January 2020. My Apologies. I'm compelled to just remind myself, again, of God's wonderful Grace. Your voice, Lexi, is certainly a gift from the Lord; very few are able to sing this song as it was meant to be sung. I feel blessed every time I listen to you. I was unaware of the Lyceum Philharmonic and will be researching them immediately; they were over the top. Thanks again to all who made this wondrous video happen. God Bless and Kindest Regards, T

Theory: Charlotte and Jackie were sent into our broken world to sing Ave for all the people to hear... and for a time, many hearts felt that blessing deeply. But they fell. Inch by inch, caught up in the world’s clutches of money and fame. So God sent the likes of Lexi and Amira as replacements. Never quite the same, but courageous and precious and powerful in their own way. Over the past 15 years, we’ve heard songs and voices like we’ve never heard before. I do believe it’s touched lots of us, sometimes in ways we can’t explain. I think lots of people are listening now. I know the world is still being blessed once again. What are your thoughts? 🤔

I have no qualms with the re-arrangement for orchestra. It is quite moving. I am disturbed by the rearrangement of the harmony where it intersects with the melodic line. Schubert's harmony is loved. Play with the orchestra all you want when she is not singing, but let us have our "Song." Playing dissonance against the original musical line hurts my feelings. This is a beautiful story! Keep it beautiful! Jus sayin.

I just wish you would sing some unreligious songs for a change. I am christian, but i think it is a waste only singing those songs when there is a whole world full of beautiful serenades everyone can relate to. But i know that americans tend to take their religion a bit more serious than the rest of the christian world...

This is the most beautiful and accomplished number I have heard from her thus far. In a young career, this is, for me, her high point. Magnificent. I might add that the orchestra is also flawless in this number. Beautiful. The only thing about this video that bothered me was the inconsistent holding of the candle. Sometimes Lexi had the candle and sometimes she didn't. After giving the candle to Joseph, she is seen holding it again. At one point Joseph and Mary weren't even in the picture where they were supposed to be meaning that this was taken over several different "takes".
