That wordplay bro, don't think he underrated, I just think mainstream doesn't get it, but mainstream don't rate skill, they rate pop tunes on generic subjects like love and money. Avelino is fully rated by people that appreciate skill. Why as an artist would you give up your artistic dignity just for money, isn't what their fans think of their art more important than alienating those fans, for phase fans that give a shit for 2 mins and move on, sure they make more money, but then the fizzle out faster too and have little to no dignity or pride in their own work. Imagine Akala started making pop songs, would you still respect him, and more importantly, would he respect himself?
