Synyster Gates and M. Shadows talk about the writing and recording process for the song "Paradigm" from their album, "The Stage." Directed & Edited by Rafa Alcantara Produced by Alex Reese & TWENTYFOURCORE Productions
We need to see: - I won’t see you tonight (either part, part one is beautiful and part two has that fantastic 7/4 section that I’d love to hear their thought process about) - M I A - Second Heartbeat - Tonight the World Dies (anyone?) - Trashed and Scattered
The Stage is my favorite album. Keep this shit up. And Matt, keep safe with your voice, don’t rush to sing or scream. We want you to be able to sing till your 100
I was in hospital and had some meds and when it starts kicked in whilst listening to All Things Will End till the end, I literally thought that it was the meds that slowed down the song..
Whoa did anyone else notice Syns all black straight through? But this is actually a really cool thing that they’re doing. The breakdowns are really cool for other artists and up and coming ones just so they can see all of the little parts that make an amazing song and album. More amazing work from these guys as always!
this album is crazy. my favorite song keeps changing the more i listen to it. still love the other songs just as much but right now Paradigm is hitting different. that chorus is powerful
I wish they would do one with Brooks for Remenissions, would love to hear his opinion on the drums, especially the cool double ride type thing in the softer/acoustic part. I’m sure they have good stories about making it too.
I like how they think this song is one giant joke but in my opinion, its one of the coolest songs theyve ever written. Awesome to hear that Brooks had so much influence in this song. Makes me look forward to the future.
Please do this breakdown thing to bat country. It was my first song i heard you guys back on that time.. Ohh, my most favourite song of yours is M.I.A btw... For next video, why not? 😉
@@NilsHedstrom That's why we can't blame others that always compare The Rev and Brooks but for me Brooks really fits A7X music because he's so creative same with the Rev but different styles.
@@aareeninccoc22423 I think they’re not comparable fundamentally. The Rev had a more creative approach to drumming and music in general but there is no doubt that Brooks is on another level technically. Brooks’s technical skill is seriously mind blowing. He’s like a human metronome
YES, absolutely. I think it's one of those songs like, "wtf is this, not normally my cup of tea" and then you listen to it for a few times and be like, okay these guys are doing something different and amazing here. It would be perfect for this kind of series, to explain what they are doing with it.
Andrew Pappas I remember watching some interview of them and when asked what their least favorite A7X song was, Syn said beast and the hartlott so idk if they’d do that one lmfaoo (think shadows said his least favorite was strength of the world)
8:47 is precious. There is something that I love so much right now and it is how freakin' proud Matt is about every single thing Brooks does, because he is a perfect fit for their music, like there is no typical sound for Avenged Sevenfold, they just keep evolving and trying new things, come up with the craziest ideas, go three steps ahead of just anything and Brooks is up to all of that. So grateful for these breakdowns because they make me appreciate their music even more; I just fall for them even more each day.
I don't know how to put this, and people are probably gonna be mad at me for saying this BUT, even though Jimmy will never be replaced, his influence will never be forgotten, and his shoes will never be filled, I still think it's lovely to see Brooks as a creator besides being a drummer. The fact that a song can spawn from him jamming a little, reminds me of our all beloved The Rev, and it's wonderful.
Nah, bro, nobody is gonna be mad at that statement. It was well said. I mean they both are products of the same drumming schools, and while they're almost evenly matched in skill, they're two entirely different drummers. Which if you sit back and think about, that's fucking crazy. Two drummers, like i said on almost the same level skill wise, but bring different styles and sounds. I really would've loved to see them play together, have two separate drum solos.. that would've been something spectacular. They're both drum Gods, in their own rights, and that's so amazing to me. Jimmy sent Brooks, from the heavens, to help Matt, Brian, Zack, and Johnny not only move forward, but to continue their ascension to becoming one of the best bands of all time. Got tons of love for Portnoy and Arin for what they did to help A7X move forward, but damn, i am so happy Brooks is behind the pots and the pans.
That is an honest and true statement I believe that Brooks is the type of drummer Jimmy would become today. Even maybe surpassing him a little just because of how much if a genius he is
Mads N Agreed. I think Avenged wasn’t looking for just a drummer, but also a contributor. It’s one thing to be a hired gun, but another to be a writer that advances the craft of the band. They definitely have not taken a step back with Brooks
