Well, since she has already watched Endgame, I guess I can say that that comment she made is half right. Wanda/Scarlet Witch is still alive and stuff. She just temporarily died. I was pretty angry when Scarlet Witch died though. She's my favorite female MCU character. Her scene during the Wakanda battle is a reminder. Same with her battle with Thanos in Endgame.
I remember watching this on premiere night and to this day, there has been no other theater experience as magical as Avengers: Infinity War. It was like being in a stadium and a rollercoaster at the same time; electrifying and exhilarating. I really hope theaters come back.
The directors revealed after the fact that Groot's last words ("I am Groot", duh) translate to english as... "Dad!". Makes it even more heartbreaking on a rewatch.
Spidey being so talkative is a big part of his character due to one thing: he's admitted he does that when he's scared or nervous to help hide it so his enemies can't take advantage of his vulnerability. It's also to get them mad so they make mistakes.
As a comic fan, I knew what was coming. When I saw this in theatres, saw parents bringing their kids to watch it, I knew they were all going to be sobbing at the end. Hell, I was sobbing and I knew it was coming. Just as a side note: most of the MCU versions of heroes and villains have been scaled down in their power - Thanos especially. Thanos with the full gauntlet in the comics battled every super hero in the universe at the same time and won easily. He battled every comic eternity, every cosmic abstract: Hate/Love, Chaos/Order, Death itself. Then he battled all of them at the same time and won. Then he battled the living embodiment of the entire universe - everything it ever was, is or will be - and he won. Thanos' only failing in the comic was that his ego got in the way. When he beat Eternity, he took his place, leaving his body and "becoming the universe." That allowed an opening for someone else to take the gauntlet from his body. This version of Thanos is VERY toned down.
I will suggests an EMPATH friendly movie. The Princess Bride. Thanos went to the Soul gem to see Gamora, Her soul is trapped in there now ... then he willed /healed his body before retiring to farm that abandoned planet.
ant-man and the wasp movie events literally happening at the same time as whats happenin in infinity wars so u need to watch that to understand why antmans not here and before endgame
@@krashd yes in the correct order she just couldn't wait to watch wanda vision since it will take her a weak to edit and post all 4 movies with endgame being 2 parts like infinity war was she has already seen them just needs to put them kn youtube
12:37 "I'm so torn as to, like, who the most powerful being is..." Funny you should mention that... because, at the time of this movie's premiere and promotion, Kevin Fiege(the head honcho over at Marvel) had previously said that Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers was the most powerful being...I'm not sure if you've watched Captain Marvel yet, cuz I think it was the only movie that was released in between "Infinity War" & "Endgame." But, without giving away any spoilers, despite it's high box office sales it wasn't as well-received as some of the other titles in the franchise... so it seems Marvel kinda had to pivot on their position of 'who the most powerful character in the MCU' is now... because as of now, Kevin Fiege and the guys over at Marvel contend that the Scarlett Witch is the most powerful character. :)
Civil war when bucky threw the sign at him, he was turned around, his eyes widened and he said "oh god" and dodged it, theyve always been there just didnt work well until far from home
The only time he doesnt talk is when he's about to take the fight extremely serious. He once had a guy forfeit because he had a cold and the guy thought Spidey was about to all out whoop his ass.
@@Jon_FM I myself read the Infinite Gauntlet comic long before the movie...I knew what would happen. I was more like...:so they actually had the guts to do it....like in the comics. While everyone was crying and being silent...I had a smile on my face...
Even I was all over the place. Funny thing is that I actually read spoilers before watching the movie. So looks like spoilers don't really spoil much as everyone claims. I came walking out the same as everyone that went in blind. I think that's why I tell everyone to stop being such a big baby when it comes to spoilers. Plus there is reading them and then actually seeing them play out on the screen. Oh and I should throw in that because I get so caught up in what's currently onscreen at any given moment, I end up forgetting 80% of the spoilers I read anyway. I usually forget until they are happening or about to happen.
There are 2 things that keep Infinity war from being perfect. Strange should have said they win in "none" of the scenarios with the implication that he has to do things differently this time from the 14+ million he saw. They shouldn't have killed people we knew for sure were getting movies in the future like spiderman and ironically black panther (RIP) Those things made it obvious everything was, in the end, going to be ok somehow. Imagine Thanos killing all of those people and you as a viewer thinking those things are permanent.
This movie was so interesting to watch in the theater. Usually when you see a Marvel movie, there is applause and laughter and conversation at the end. I saw this on opening weekend in the theater and it was dead silent at the end. People just shuffled out slowly and silently like it was a funeral.
Ego mentioned that it took him eons to build and harness his power. Part of the reason he was so powerful was that he had spent billions of years accumulating that power. Peter hasn't had that much time. He may have the potential, but if so he's gonna have to start small.
You should be a little more specific on what Peter, haha!!! Took me a second because I immediately went to Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Should've said Peter Quill/Star-Lord. But for a second or two, I was like "Peter Parker didn't get his powers from his father." Then a second or two later I was "Oh, yeah, Peter Quill. That Peter." Kind of sucks that there is more than one Peter. Kind of like they hired a bunch of Chris's to play the characters. We got Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Pratt. I suppose you can add Chris Pine into the mix also, although he isn't in the MCU. But because of Wonder Woman, Chris Pine is another Chris to add to well known Chris's currently in Hollywood that are connected to superhero movies.
This movie is an example of why spoilers don't ruin a thing. I went in knowing all the spoilers and I still walked out like everyone who went in blind. I came out feeling all kinds of thing. Entertained, depressed/sad, drained, lost, angry, speechless, needing a moment or two alone to process what I just watched, and wanting Endgame ASAP to see what happens next. A lot of people that went in blind walked out feeling exactly how I did. They were all over the place in emotions. So spoilers don't ruin jack. There is reading stuff and then there is actually seeing things play out on the screen. Plus throw in that i forgot like 80% of the spoilers anyway because I got too caught up in what was currently onscreen to forget what was coming. I think all that stuck with me was who survived/died.
"I think he gets nervous" Yes actually. That's exactly the reason. Spiderman quips so much in battle to distract himself from the dangerous situations he is in everyday
@@scorp77snake Yes. Spiderman talking during fights is an iconic signature characteristic of his. He's been doing that since the character was first created.
@@scorp77snake it's both it's to annoy his enemies into making mistakes and it's a way for him to cope when something is alot for him to deal with mentally
I saw it three times opening weekend, and each time there were gasps, screams, and crying. The best time was when I went with a group of friends who didn't see it yet. II watched all of them in a row. covering their mouths while leaning forward in complete horror lol.
Man, Marvel has spoiled us with movies. Now every movie needs a million sequels to compare. Remember back in our youth when the only movies that racked up more than two sequels were "Jason", "Nightmare on Elm street" or " Rockey"?
@@Doctor2285 Absolutely. I believe she already has resurrected him within her pocket universe/reality bubble. But I’m pretty certain when the bubble bursts it will have some causalities beyond what us fans want.
@@Doctor2285 I think her best solution, and I hope she figures this out, would be to use her reality warping powers to bring back the mind stone and place it back with a repaired Vision. The data to repair him could theoretically exist in Wakanda.
When I noticed Mary's makeup at the beginning of the video, I though "oh, that's so pretty. There's no way it'll make it to the end of the film intact."
The magic of the MCU. Even people who generally arent into superhero movies got so attached to the characters in this Journey that they cry at the loss of them.
@@Zenapprentice I was about to say the same thing. This and Endgame were probably the best theater experiences of my life. Place was packed with people genuinely interested in being there and invested in the story. Infinity War had so many gut punches. Even just watching a reaction and remembering the experience makes me feel a little gutted. They are great films. They will be remembered for a long, long time.
Agreed!!! My son and I were bawling...then I heard sniffles down the row from us...then the whole theater. I could hear all the sniffles cuz it was quiiiiiiiiet!!!! We all sat thru the credits crying and silent. Then when The Avengers logo dusted....chile I was THROUGH lol.
Peter Parker’s last words were all improvised cause the script had his last words be “ I don’t feel so good” but Holland kept going giving his death more emotional
Tom Holland explained in an interview that when he does emotional scenes, he’ll pick a sentence and repeat it in his mind over and over again. For this scene he choose to do it out loud. It was, of course, a great addition.
There's a theory that when Peter Parker said "Mr Stark, I don't feel so good" is actually Peter's spider sense kicking in warning him something's gonna go wrong.
The moment I saw Black Panther vanish it immediately took me out of the movie so I didn't really feel that much when Peter "died" cause it was too obvious that they would bring them back somehow.
I remember the absolutely stunned silence in the theater when I saw this opening night. I mean, I knew Thanos was going to win and they’d have to deal with the damage in the next film, but the way they did it was just a complete and utter shock. Heaviest ending to a movie I’ve ever seen.
Peter is born on August 10th 2001. So in Civil War he is at the end of age 14. In Homecoming he is at the start of 15. In Infinity War he is at the end of 16. In Endgame he is still at the end of 16. And in the Far From Home he is in the middle of 17.
@@Dagenspear Yeah, but he's revered as a god. And anyone with a "god-like persona", the idea is, if you make them bleed, the people that revere him would cease to believe in them as invincible deities.
Much like how the previous generation left the theater after watching The Empire Strikes Back, except without knowing for sure what the release date of Return of the Jedi would be.
@@EntertainmentGym At least our generation knew that there was a year wait... and there’s also a thing called the internet, that allowed basically a global discussion among fans. Back in the days of “Empire”, fans didn’t know when the next one would be released, and there was no way to really vocalize thoughts with each other, other than just within your own circles; no RU-vid video to help fuel speculation haha
@@EntertainmentGym I would kinda disagree on that one. When people first saw Empire they all left the theater thinking "omg what the fuck is gonna happen next?" When people left the theater after Infinity War the majority was thinking "omg what trick will they use to reverse everything that happened?"
You’re theory was right actually. Thanos did use the time stone on his wound from Thor. Watch in slow motion and you’ll see it repair by green glow as it spits out the axe
@@_Beau2005_ The wound sealed up using green. He was pulled back by the blue glow into the portal. If you watch the movie carefully he often activates several stones at once. Like throwing the moon. He broke it apart with power and sent it flying using space.
@@phoenixforce6595 It absolutely cannot repair wounds. It’s the only stone that is “alive”. It’s powers are to create a soul universe and trap people and to be a dick about it with weird rules.
Spiderman and any other fast healer - like Wolverine - would take a while to dust. And they'd feel it the whole time, like their body is fragmenting and reforming from the inside-out.
@@user-fe3jx4bd2f No. There were others with superhuman endurance and healing that did not have a chance to resist. In the comics, when the metaphysical entities opposed Thanos with the Gauntlet, Spider-Man could sense when Master Order and Lord Chaos were subject to Thanos' omnipotence.
@@Italo-Mateus Thanos kicked Thor's ass in the beginning of the movie (despite that he only had 1 stone in his gauntlet). Then, he wiped the floor with Dr. Strange's face as well during the battle on Titan. The theory that Thanos had to wait for Odin, Ego, and the Ancient One to die before he could start collecting the stones does have merit because they're the only beings powerful enough to destroy him. Another reason Thanos waited so long to get the stones is that like Thor said, nobody knew where the soul stone is nor have they seen it but once Thanos looked at Nebula's memory banks, he found out that Gamora has found the location of the soul stone.
Mary "He talks too much, especially when he's fighting." Long time Spider-Man fans: "Welcome to being a Spider-Man fan lol." That goes way back to the beginning of the comics.
Now imagine watching this when it came out in 2018 and then having to wait a WHOLE YEAR before you could watch endgame, that came out in 2019, in order to find out what happens!!! That was so torturous!!!
@Enya Moore yeah I agree even though his dad died I do believe he still has that power and maybe it might come into play in the next guardians movie or Thors movie
Well, Quill did hold the Power stone, so maybe some of that pace-magic got absorbed into him? Certainly ways they could give him some power if they want to.
Thor entrance in Wakanda hits different when you realize Nat/Cap haven’t seen Thor in 2 years. Banner thought Thor died in Space and Wakanda is seeing Thor for the 1st time. Probably questioning and changing their religious beliefs
Why would seeing Thor make Wakandans question anything? They're an extremely advanced civilisation and Thor has been seen on Earth multiple times in very high profile fights, they know exactly who he is ^^
This movie is the first one that has left me speechless at the end. An absolute experience. It left me heartbroken, and yet, satisfied. This movie literally sends you into the process of mourning. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. And when the acceptance comes around, you understand that every single story thread, every single detail, was fleshed out and completed, while opening a few new ones for the sequel. Infinity War is by far, the best, most well fleshed out sequel/in-between-quel of all time. Juggling these dozens of characters, each with their own personalities and story threads, is an absolutely monumental task for the Russo brothers, and they NAILED it. By far my favorite Marvel film ever. It horrifies, shocks, makes you laugh, angers you, and leaves you wanting more, despite the gut-wrenching punches the movie throws at you. A complete cinematic experience. That's the best way to describe this movie; complete, but open for more.
Yes. My thoughts put into words. I'm pretty sure there's no plot holes. If there were potential for some they stopped it with Strange looking into the future. Smart
Follow me on twitch.tv/Maryycherryy -- patreon for all of MCU uncut phase 1-3 and wandavision: patreon.com/marycherryofficial .. edit: oh my lord...guys. i've watched the end credit scene, as i always do in every mcu movie. my editor didn't include it, but it's in the uncut version! 27:58 I talk about the end credit scene!!
Quill can't turn into his Celestial powers because after when his father Ego was killed his Celestial powers were sealed away for good so he couldn't tap into anything if it is gone.
It’s even worse for Peter because of his spider-sense he can feel himself dying before it even happens, whereas no one else can feel themselves die, they just go without even realizing.
I mean she was the only character in Endgame that could've fucked him up & literally ripped him apart all on her own if it weren't for the plot interrupting their fight.
She seen it. When she was doing all the R.I.P.'s, she mentioned Fury and Maria. But she's already watched all the MCU movies. They are just on standby to be released. Well, first she must edit the RU-vid version of her reactions. From the sounds of it, we won't see Endgame until the end of January or early February.
I really hoped that Dr. Strange wouldn't say "1" there... Why not 5? lol. That's either really clichee, or he just stopped after he found the first one, which would be really dumb
Agreed. Isn't there at least one where Thanos accidentally falls and breaks his neck or something similar? Sure, it would be anticlimactic, but not one of the timelines going that route sounds fishy to me. Are you also saying in every reality Thor doesn't take the headshot? Again, sounds like Dr. Strange just got lazy.
Also, I'd take the option where they tell Quill that Gamora is dead way before Thanos arrived, to prevent him from doing something so stupid. Then, they took te Gaunlet and fucked him. Just Gamora dying, not a future where three Avengers died. That 1 possible future is SO dumb.
100% agree. That 1 out of God knows how many cases was so stupid it literally took me out of the movie, especially if that one case depends on a fucking mouse activating the Ant-Man machine, like wtf lol There were at least a dozen instances where they could've handicapped or straight up killed him if it weren't for the plot.
thing is: Dr. Strange looked ahead at the last minute and only saw one option; He SHOULD have rewound time to when Hulk first landed, I'd have bet at that point there were a ton of possible solutions or hell, popped Thanos' hand through a portal and closed it, it was established earlier that this cuts off the arm.
I feel that Infinity War and Endgame is just one, big, long movie split into two parts. In a good portion of these superhero movies, the villain almost always has to win the first round to illiterate the threat. Infinity War is basically the first round. Endgame is when the heroes triumph.
To make Spider-Man's death even sadder, the only reason we got his "I don't want to die" speech because his Spider-Sense told him that something was happening to him.
Exactly. The vast majority of reactors are brain-dead shills who think in binary black and white terms. They couldn’t understand good, complex character writing to save their lives
I remember seeing this in the theater and the entire audience was silent or crying. It was so surreal...and we had to wait a year to find out what happens. You've been on quite a rollercoaster ride, Mary. All of these movies and beloved characters leading up to this point. Enjoying your MCU journey so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ it's not over yet
