This completely underlines the reasons why Tom Hiddleston is my favorite actor. Is and always will be. His acting skills are freaking amazing!! Like, villains in movies, like Loki, are written with like depth, and with a background and everything, Tom is amazing because he gives the character even more depth by the way he portrays him. and that goes for every character he plays. He's just freaking amazing!! No other way to say it. FAVORITE ACTOR EVER!!!
Tom is really great at playing the pain Loki is going through being told that he isn't who he always thought he was. I know he will redeem himself and if not well he is the god of mischief and lies. Tom has really brought this character to life its all in the eyes he has amazing eyes and you can see all the emotions in them. Love for Tom xxx
Well, of course you are correct. But, honestly, his attractiveness is part of him, too. I just felt completely overwhelmed by the whole of the man. I hate that my shallow side gets the better of me when I talk about him. He is a fantastic actor, and so smart. I know he had a good education, but a good deal of his intelligence is natural. Branagh says he's very quick, and you can see that. I just felt him pouring out of the screen in waves. Thought I was drowning.
He always seems so grateful when the interviewer says that they loved the film... he's always like "thank you so much! thank you!" awww it is impossible not to love him.
I liked Loki! He gives me a chance to let out my inner angst without ravaging the countryside. Besides, he has green eyes. Tom, of course, made him even better. He was soo good that I didn't even CARE about the other characters. That's great, now show Loki again!
"The thing that Marvel is so clever at is that they make their heroes...flawed, and the villains...heroic." Absolutely 100% agree. Tom is an extremely wise man, and I'd venture to say that he's had some exposure to Marvel comics in his life prior to being cast as Loki. As a die-hard Marvel fan, I truly almost feel bad about ppl who go watch these movies when they really have missed out and are not knowledgeable about the depth and greatness of these fictional beings. Marvel is just...amazing.
I agree. I kind of feel sad when an actor's work is not weighed for his talented work as much as for shallow thoughts. Kevin Feige was asked why Loki garnered so many fans and his response was basically because Tom was uniquely good looking, that coupled with his bad boy character made him popular. I wanted to go to him and tell him NO. Loki is charismatic, and looks gorgeous, but Tom gives him so many aspects to his persona, the layers his talent puts in Loki... THAT'S the reason why.
Congrats Tom, you did a fantastic job in Thor and The Avengers! And congrats on your movie making more then 500 Million Domestically and 1.3 Billion World Wide! Cant wait for Thor 2!
XD "AVENGERS Villain Tom Hiddleston" couldn't u c Tom in the avengers being the villain? lol Germany scene: "hello everybody, um, listen I kind of need u guys to kneel to piss off Thor for me - ah, or else I'll have to sick the fan girls on u which - yikes - wouldn't b pretty, so kneel pls?" *flashes smile* *simultaneous popping sounds* *all ladies faint, falling to knees* Tom: "thank u for your cooperation" :) ;P
Exactly this! I'm not quite the "die-hard Marvel" fan that you are, but I definitely get what you're saying. :) Tom hit the nail on the head here -- the thing that makes Loki such an amazing villain is that he is very hard to hate or loathe. Most villains are your typical run-of-the-mill bad guys that "we love to hate" but Marvel villains are always just so much more than that; especially Loki.
Loki is not a Bastard child or a monster. He is just misunderstood and I can agree he has been lied to and for me that makes me feel sorry for Loki cuz I know how it feels to be lied to. I feel Loki’s pain and Sorrow. I would treat Loki with respect. I love Loki ❤️ he wouldn’t feel like a outsider when I give him a big hug
The first part is technically true. No, he's not a monster, but he is still a runt that Laufey didn't consider to be worth saving. Loki has never had a loving father in his life and it makes him far more tragic.
Actually he is all those things.. But Tom has made him redeemable. He is the reason Loki has a soft side. He is the reason Loki would be seen as a potential hero at all.
What I think is amazing is that Tom plays one villain - just one! - against a team of well-liked, legendary formidable heroes. As Tom said, Lotke is not well-known the way I'd say Lex Luthor or The Joker is. Of course, it's easy for the fans to latch on to the heroes and the actors that play the heroes - it's harder to garner respect and recognition as the antagonist. And he totally pulled it off.
Loved the fact that he mentioned Magneto just now...made me think of Michael Fassbender which made me think of a collaboration between these 2 which made...melt into a puddle *v*
That's why I'm always so interested in the villains more than the heros. Because they have a better reason for what they do. They actually question their abilities and what they can do with them, and something usually causes them to turn. They don't just wake up one morning with these skills and say "I think I'm gonna start blowing up buildings today." and I'm not saying heros do that, but I just feel like the villains have a good reason for why they blow up a bunch of buildings.
because all the interviews are done in the same day or two or three. It's called a press junket, and all the media and press are permitted a specific amount of time with all the principal actors/director/producer etc. who rotate around to each media interview for that day/days.
I am trying to get more into his background story if he gets his own movie then well it would be so awesome that ALL of the things about him will make the movie longer and longer COME ON marvel make a loki movie :D!
Loki is Tom and Tom is Loki they are one and the same. He even said it himself they are pretty much the same, it was easy to act as Loki because he was sort of a trickster himself and mischievous.
I know exactly what you mean! They have a deeper back story, for someone to become like they are, there should have been a lot negative experiences. The villains confidence is almost gone, and most of the time, they have a undying need to prove themselves, when this doesn't happen, time and time again, something snaps. Ahh. Psychology, it's so interesting!
Ummmm, he doesn't die in Thor. He let's go, but he doesn't die, there's an extra scene after the credits... And also he is in The Avengers... =) He doesn't die!!! =) But yes, he's just wonderful. Amazing actor... And I love his voice... =)
Huh, a fangirl who's honest; though I've been made speechless by the shallowness of it. How 'attractive' the actor is should have nothing to do with it. It should be about the actor's talent of characterising a fictional being; not how hot they look while doing it. Tom is a talented actor; not a piece of meat you can have sex dreams about. His work on Loki was fantastic & it's sad knowing that some people can't appreciate artful talent unless they have a pretty face. It's pathetic really.
Agreed ^^ But, there is a difference between certain villains. Some go insane, and others strive to rule the planet, or universe. It all really depends on the character, and what they went through to become what they are. It's all so intriguing.
ppl come on and don't be so shallow... he isn't popular just because he has a pretty face... he's a talented actor and very intelligent... or every fangirl in the world loves all the pretty boys even if they happen to be dumb as f***? XD i'm not saying i'm not blown by his hotness but c'mon, there is much more behind his pretty face! :)
lol..You know they are doing a lot of interviews in one day? They are scheduled to do interviews back to back all day. That is why you see the same shirt in different interviews.
"The thing about human beings is that they are constantly inconstant. You know, we all have nobility in us. We all have moments of weakness. We all say things we didn't mean, do things we wish we hadn't done. And then there are days when we're amazing... And we are the best version of ourselves." I call bullshit, Tom. Explain how you are perfect ALL THE TIME.
I can see making Loki the main character--actually, that would be a great idea, definitely--but Thor should still be around. The brothers are most interesting when they bounce off each other.
aw man, I completely forgot about him. The Red Skull............eh crap. He's not coming back. Nevermind I don't think they have anymore plans for that character.
I understand the sentiment, but I think it's pointless to complain about it. The reproductive drive in humans will pretty much override anything sensible for the most part. Then again, I am old, ugly and have read too many books. I may be slightly out of touch, however I speak from general experience. It is better to learn how to use the basic instincts of man to your own advantage rather than rail against them.
