Just got my first EBike Sinch .2 I really am enjoying it and love all the new safety features being over the age of 65.. helps me get out there and enjoy life 😊 thanks for the great review!
Just got a Sinch.2 and put a few miles on it. I also have an Aventon Adventure 2. The Sinch seems to have more torque and I can do my normal ride in gears above 5 easily. With the Adventure 2, I have to gear down at least one and possibly two gears to get the same comfort on some hills. You can most definitely go over 20mph on the Sinch.2 - you just don't get power assist. I have had it to 25 a couple of times on level road. Of course going down a steep hill it will fly because... gravity. The slight delay on the torque sensor is manageable and seems to be shorter than the Adventure 2 which I have to allow for when going slow. In all, it seems to be at least as comfortable and capable as the Adventure.2 and some features are nicer. I can slide it into the back of my hatchback more easily since I can fold down the handlebars and fold up the pedals - I don't bother to fold the whole bike. As with many of the ebike folders, the weight makes it a bit unwieldy when it is folded - good for storage or an RV maybe but not terribly useful otherwise.
I love the demonstration of putting the folded bike in a storage tote! My wife and I were brainstorming on how to travel with the bikes and your video solved it! Thanks
Aventon explained to Ryan that they opted for mechanical brakes to eliminate the probability of a fluid leak due to a pinched hydraulic cable when unfolding the Sinch.2
@@cycles.unplugged_inc I heard that. Doesn’t stop other folding e-bikes from successfully including hydraulic brakes. It’s how Aventon chooses to route the rear brake line. You definitely can’t kink a hydraulic line as that’d restrict passage of fluid and can cause cracks to form through it. Routing it internally probably puts too much bending force on it at the hinge. If it were run externally, its retention clips could be place a few inches away from the hinge so the line could assume a larger and less stressful bend.
@@chow-chihuang4903 Chow: I agree on all points. Lack of hydraulic brakes is probably the one thing that gives me pause about buying this heavy (68 lb) $1800 foldable ebike. Even the $999 Lectric XP 3.0 has hydraulic brakes. Did you buy the Sinch.2? I'd love to hear your thoughts / recommendations. Honestly, the Gocycle G4i remains on my radar screen, despite its lofty price!
I'm scratching my head about those mechanical disc brakes both the pace & level got hydraulic brakes why not the sinch all these upgrades for the .2 and they leave the mechanical brakes makes no sense to me , Aventon why??
Addmotor has equipped the M160 with a 7-Level Pedal Assist with Torque Sensor, a technology I've never seen on other models before. My old Sinch only had 5 levels.
Me, too. However, it will go above 20 if you are pure of heart or going down hill. You just don't get the electric assist. I easily top 25 on straights and could go higher down my normal hills (regular ride). You do feel the burn, though. 70 lb bikes are... heavy. ;-)
I wil be buying the new aventon cinch.2 im 4ft 11 the reason why im buying it for were i can get to a store and get out to ride but mainly for getting to work were in spring and summer i don't have to pay for a Uber or Lyft i just need them for fall and winter watching the video i like everything about it the speed brake's and singles and racks in the back just as well up front and most of it all it folds in to the tote which i could put in the garage in a tote easy to clean does not weigh a lot love the tires the gears/ the lights I can put my cell phone holder on the handle bars i can listin to my music 🎶🎵 going to work just as well going to a store or just riding relaxing is what i need thank you so much for showing me .
Buy from a store. Bought a Lectric Trike for my wife. Now it needs to be sent back for repairs. Which means it can’t be ridden in weeks. Now FedEx can mess it up again. I won’t buy another bike online. On the other hand, I bought a Pace 500.2 from a store and the store has serviced it twice since. I can drive it over there and back.
You have the tires backwards. These have a much larger contact patch on the road or paved path, so better grip. Only when you are in sand or something soft do they have less grip.
That's a beauty.. I call it a Baby Boomer Bike .. Well, most of their offerings are Baby Boomer friendly .. It's perfect for us 55 plus age group. Or just a gentleman's bike 😂
Hey Ryan: I'd love to hear your feedback on whether there are emerging quality control and/or customer service issues at Aventon. I was surfing customer ratings/feedback on Aventon's website over the weekend, and although most of what I read appeared to apply to the Aventon Abound (not the Sinch.2), it *did not* paint a flattering picture at all.
The rear frame has changed from the last version, I prefer the look of the original, really the only thing I prefer on this version are the handle bars. The original version now has fenders and a rack included also.
I was torn between the Sinch.2 and one of the new Lectrics. My dealer had the Sinch.2 in stock and the Lectric was not shipping for another month and there was no local dealer. In the end, they are both folders which I probably won't fold much. I fold the handle bars and the pedals to slide it into my Highlander easily (much easier than a full size bike). They have similar specs and having ridden the Sinch.2, I am happy with it. I could also be happy with the Lectric so macht nichts.
The close-up of the folding latch showed scuffed paint on the frame, did it come from the factory this way? If so I’m surprised you didn’t mention it when discussing the green packaging (which I do appreciate).
Yes it came that way and I forgot to call it out (I should have). Unsure if it was due to new packaging or just unlucky due to FedEx. Thanks for commenting.
Great!!! review. I think you need to be more precise as to what gears you are talking about when pedaling. In bike parlance the 1st gear is normally the largest rear cog. Most cyclists who are not familiar with gears, gear ratios etc will name the largest rear cog the "easiest" gear to pedal in especially when going uphill. The progressively smaller gears in the rear cluster should be moved to as one gains speed on the bike so as not to bounce on the seat and become inefficient in the pedaling stroke. The larger the number gear 2, 3, 4, etc means that the specific gear will become a smaller diameter gear. Keep up the great work!!
Couldn't get OF folding Sinch to fit that easy into any tote I bought. The derailleur (i think?) was always pressed up against the side making me nervous.
Great review. Could you tell which one will you recommend to a first ebike buyer, lectric xp 3 vs Aventon sinch 2? And the reason for the recommendation. Thanks!
Wasn't impressed with the pedal assist going uphill. Almost seems the torque sensor wasn't engaging properly. You should have put it in a higher gear and increased your cadence going up the hill to see how well the motor engaged going up the entire hill.
Why would anyone spend more money for a bike that is slower. I consistently ride at 24 mph with my Sinch .1 // pedal "assist", no effort The lag is a bit annoying, that torque sensor does sound like a nice upgrade tho...
Not everybody owns a bike to ride fast. I personally find no need to go over 20 miles an hour. I don't understand so many people's obsession with going fast.
How can the folded bike be only 19 inches shorter in length when the wheel alone is 20”? You say the bike is 47 l x 28w x 30h but the tote 41 L x18w x 20 H. The length and width you listed can’t be bigger than the tote.
Is that tote really only 18" wide? I have 21" wide totes and I am planning to take the pedals off to get the bikes in easier. Aventon lists folded dimensions as 46” x 28” x 30”.
I returned the first sinch because of the delay in motor activation when you pedal and switch to throttle, or vice versa. I think there wasn’t much delay using just one or the other. I wonder if this has the same issue
I own two other Aventon bikes love them I have the level 2 and an abound. Will the battery for this sinch fit in my other two bikes? Would be nice to not have 3 different types
Hey Guys: I'm pretty much set on buying the Sinch.2, but I can't decide on which color to get. I don't have the opportunity to see the colors in person at a local dealer, so I'm forced to order online from Aventon. But the Sapphire and Quicksilver color options on the Aventon website don't really look the same as what I see in the various RU-vid videos...Sapphire is more like royal blue on RU-vid, whereas it's a more subdued teal on the Aventon website. And Quicksilver is more *silver* on RU-vid, whereas it's more dull grey on Aventon's website. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
How does the tote you mention fit a bike that specs as folded “ 46Lx28Wx30H? I’d love it if it could get that small and appreciate any insight before as buy one. Trying to fit into Tiffin small RV with small door frame. Thanks!
Be aware Aventon’s customer service sucks, so if you get a bike with an issue right outta the box Iike I did, be prepared to not get a response to your inquiry in the time frame their reply email says, do expect them to give you a BS response to a review left on their web page in less than a day! 2k dollar bike and cant even ride it!
That's why I won't buy a bike online. I bought mine from a local authorized dealer. I get a free 30 day tuneup in the shop told me they serviced the bike
