I am using averagex function the total it shows in the table total is different when I used the same measure on the card. Why does it behave differently?
@AgulloBernat

basic doubt: if I don't use a measure for the second argument, do I need to use calculate to force context transition?
@SQLBI

It depends - you don't have to use CALCULATE if you use a column of the table you iterate. You likely need CALCULATE if you use an aggregation function.

@@SQLBI thank you! Didn't find any example with calculate in dax.guide and got confused. Also, Why don't we need calculate for columns of the same table?
@SQLBI
@SQLBI 3 года назад
Because you access with the row context, you need CALCULATE to apply a context transition (when you need it).

@@SQLBI ok! I think I understood it now. (I've had this feeling before though!)

When I copy & paste these formulas in the calculated table formula bar, It gives errors. How can i use these formulas in the Power BI without DAXStudio ?

You can test the code also on dax.do Just use dax.guide/averagex/ and execute the code using the "TRY IT" button. In Power BI you can paste the code of the measure definition in corresponding measures.
