He has an obsession with chiselled hexagon-looking jawlines. Asian girls with curved or v-shaped jawlines are 10x more attractive. Also changing the eyes didn't really do anything. The only change that made her more attractive was removing the smile lines but that's just aging
He was going by western beauty standards, which means more striking of a look which is something most asians don't have. Most asians have really soft faces, so by making her appeal more to western beauty standards she in turn "looks less asian".

I wouldn’t say Constance Wu is average-looking by either Eastern or Western standards. She has a beautiful face to begin with. Plus, the pic of her with blue eyes is freaky. Also, one thing that’s not mentioned is the double standard of beauty between men and women. While it’s acceptable for men to have a few wrinkles and gray hair, society tends to dictate that women have to remain youthful as possible.
This channel started out interesting and turned into something very unnecessary and boring. You're pushing beauty standards and cherry picking studies to call them objective (or, in your words, "conventional") to sell a service. If the business model works, good for you, I guess. I wouldn't find it very fulfilling to reduce people exclusively to their facial appearance.

I've modeled for 28 or some odd years. I gave it up recently for motherhood, food, and tattoos. LOL. I have zero regrets. Take it from an insider *NOBODY* is naturally model skinny. Maybe model attractive? Yeah. But skinny? No. Despite that, even now if you're pretty you can't find a model who hasn't had a shred of work done and is 100% natural. Maybe if I went down that road I could have worked well into my late 30's and early 40's like you can see more "normal" nowadays. But it really is a lot of disordered eating, calorie counting, illicit substances (or legal substance abuse), plastic surgery. I was "lucky" to have a health condition that made me that skinny but it sure isn't what happens for 95% of models (and was graced with the cheekbones most get implants and filler to achieve as models.) So it's nice to see this quite honestly. Because it sure isn't normal to be high fashion in any capacity!
I think it’s interesting to see the theory behind the process that we see with celebrity photos. Hair makeup and a quick touch up using a bit of software and we believe everyone looks a certain way. The weird bit are people actually getting surgically altered to look like a retouched or filtered picture

I think on Maya Hawke, less « large » cheek bones would look better instead of making her jaws larger, because the distance between both eyes and the size of each eye, should be the same than the distance between the external corner of the eye and the ear, here it’s way mre. High cheeks looks good, but only if they’re close to the eye.
Would never change anything about their features. I can't separate the person from the face, can't imagine being judged by appearance instead of the personality behind it. I know it happens but not for me. If your personality is ugly, your face can't be beautiful in my eyes.

For the most part they are average. If they didn't have the celebrity status whether it be on social media, movies, music, whatever you wouldn't look twice seeing someone looking like them walking down the street. Take someone like Steven Carell, people love the office and seeing him act puts a smile on faces. You associate his acting and personality positively so in turn he looks better. Granted for his age Steven Carell looks good for 60 but many rich celebrities do look better than average for advance age due to them having the money to do so. (In addition a drive to keep up with appearances because looking good is part of their livelihood).

Idk man, to me the edited versions look more like instagram models than fashion models. And they sort of blend into each other, like they are missing some “human” characteristics, making them look somewhat uncanny valley. But that’s just me. Just proves theory doesn’t necessarily translate into real life
Imo they looked better before than after but personally just cause they looked more model like didn't necessarily make them more attractive especially Maya Hawke. Steve looked uncanny to me and I think that's the issue with models and especially if you meet one in real life they look amazing don't get me wrong but it almost looks off how perfect some look.

Actors and actresses really can't be too beautiful. Look at Angelina Jolie, she is just too beautiful there's not a lot of roles that is logical for her to be in, and her face is too distracting we can't really see her as the character, just her as her.

When you added the changes to her i couldn’t help but think of the average ig influencer. Like it just wouldn’t leave my mind. she became more like the average Instagram influencer that you don’t at all but is somehow famous. With Steve he became the average male thirst trap influencer. Like a 1980s aged vinnie hacker just older. It took away his uniqueness. It didn’t separate him from the pack it put him right back in it. This reminds me of Megan Fox. She lost her features and gained some sexualized roles in return, and maybe some beauty products and fashion contracts, idk. She lost part of her identity and became an stereotype. She got quite beautiful, but in a generic way. There is an argument about her having a too common face, despite been beautiful before, that wouldn't land her great roles and contracts, but as "a doll" she suffered prejudice and seems lost, like she forgot who she is because she learned to change her looks (mimic) to gain "leverage". She herself is nowhere to be found...

To be honest, I didn't like those changes at all. All of them were already well above average - not perfect 10s obviously, but attractive people nonetheless. After those changes yes, they did become more attactive - but also totally forgetable, like all those faces from instagram which are undeniably pretty, but they all look exactly the same (and also quite fake). What people tend to forget is that uniqueness also plays huge part in attractiveness - that is why celebrities like Natalie Dormer or Tom Hiddleston are considered to be super hot by so many, even though they don't have perfect facial features...
The "uniqueness" of their faces is avg as well, just because you look unique doesn't make you handsome or ugly. Natali Dormer is avg and Tom Hiddleston is considered handsome because his whole package like tall, fit, successful, well-spoken, and great personality, while for women is based on looks in specific rather than the whole package. That's why female models make more than male models.
My takeaway is that with more "normatively attractive" features the less recognizable and unique you look. You can tell it's them in the after picture but their "flair" is gone. They look more like basic Instagram-models.
I agree. I found their faces less interesting and more "ordinary." Their face was no longer interesting to me, just another "AI" generated face. I find most of the Instagram models look more or less the same with different hair and eye colours.

This is to address the people commenting that they looked better before being photoshopped and, the people commenting that after photoshop they just looked like the "average" beautiful person. I can't remember if I heard it from a Qoves Studio video or, some other beauty article that stated that because we consume so much media in our culture we assume that high level beautiful people are common but, in fact they are extremely rare. Even apps like Tiktok and Tinder are notorious for pushing the most attractive people to the front which also helps trick people into thinking very attractive people are common. However, when you get offline and, out of the movie theaters you can go months, years, or even a lifetime without personally seeing someone on the high end of beauty. Take away their fame and the same celebrities many of us drool over would be ignored in real life; especially men. I see guys on Steve Correll level all the time struggling to get dates. My point is even if any of the celebrities they photoshopped looked like the typical Instagram model put that person in the real world (without fame) and, they would love the photoshopped version of their face because that level of beauty would still be rare and, highly desired!
Yet those looks are only highly desired today because of social media, tv, film, and modeling. Go back 100 years and that Instagram influencer wouldn’t be the one who caught everyone’s eye. They had their own idea of beautiful. Each generation decides what is extremely beautiful and that standard is constantly changing and varies from place to place. At the same time….,Tick Tok is showing the world what the “standard” is “supposed to be” with every video they show though so who knows, with time, as we all become addicted to the same media, perhaps there will come a time where we all agree on what is beautiful. To me, that is a terrifying thought.

Take a woman who is universally considered "high end" beautiful today and, I guarantee you that she would still be considered beautiful 100 years ago and, beautiful 100 in the future. Again remember the point of my original comment: highly beautiful people are rare in the real world it is just that we consume so much media that we believe highly beautiful people are common.

Take a picture of a beautiful Korean woman considered beautiful in 1900 and compare that to the ideal South Korean woman today. Night and day. I remember talking to someone who showed me pictures of her sisters from the 1930s in a small Latin American village. I pointed to a woman who would win a Miss Venezuela beauty pageant today and she said she was not considered that attractive then. She actually told me her chest was too big and her legs were too long in a straight face. Those are features people in Venezuela and all over the world pay a lot of money for but back then, they weren’t the beauty ideal. She pointed to the sister considered attractive at the time. She was plain to my eyes. Beauty standards change.
I go a state university known for partying and it is full of beautiful people. If you have good fashion, workout and have fixed your dental structure with braces, it's more likely that you'll end up on the good looking side

I feel like Ryan gosling and Reynolds would be cool to see since i feel like their face and jaw shape does not fit the western beauty standard but are still considered attractive. Also someone like Steve Buscemi and Amy Schumer since They are both considered unattractive.
It’s interesting how these little tweaks aggregate into their faces not looking like them at all. I can see how it might make them fit the beauty ideal more but it feels wrong in a way bc it takes away the uniqueness that makes them so likeable.
The problem with this is that it focuses on making actors more 'model-like' according to beauty standards/benchmarks. But the thing is, these actors are celebrated for their talent, the roles they play and their public personas. So changing their faces would actually detract from what people find attractive about them. Their personalities and professional ability actually count for something - unlike what models are celebrated for - which is their looks.
There is partly truth in it. You also have to remember they are partly chosen for their looks. If brad pitt plays a nerd and Danny Devitto the popular guy who gets all the girls it would be weird. Even if they acted their role perfectly.
