My admiration for Avi is not only for his voice and his great talent, but for his fidelity to his principles, his beliefs, his heart. In this crazy industry of music and fame, it's hard to stay 100% authentic, and to some extent you are conditioned by this world. Avi sacrificed many things to be able to deliver everything and more to each of us for 6 years, how he was also able to leave everything aside to be faithful to what he needed as a human being. Peace, tranquility and harmony in his life. His departure from Pentatonix left me many lessons. Fight for your dreams, persevere, enjoy the moments that life gives you, and achieve all this without ever losing your essence and staying close to what you love. Pentatonix has a great talent, it is admirable how they make music only with their voices, but I must admit that Avi was the one who caught my attention the day I first met PTX, not only because of his voice, but because of his way of see life, to give off a special aura that radiates peace and tranquility. I speak spanish, so sorry for my mistakes!
Seeing this made me realize how much I miss him, but I love Matt to death and you can tell that Avi is genuinely happy with what he is doing, and Matt is super happy being in ptx so it makes me happy that they are both happy.
To me this just emphasizes the difference in directions between Avi and Pentatonix. Pentatonix is sounding great with Matt in place and heading more toward the pop sound, while Avi is embracing his roots and a more laidback road. Good luck to all of them.
So I'm not sure I should place it here, but I think PTX is now what they always strived to achieve, "just" a band that happens to use their voices only. They are amazing and all, so Avi, but the magic was in the group with the chemistry of their differences. Anyways, my love and anticipation is still here, whatever they will do artistically :)
I couldn't agree more. I love what he's doing on his own and I think it's sad that all PTX does is covers now. Have/will they ever come out with anything original again?
Everyone listening to this: Be brave. Follow your instincts like Avi did. Like a trust fall. The Universe WILL catch you. And you will find this peace that Avi exudes here. 🌻
Words cannot describe how much I admire this man. His eyes, smile and musical soul show that he had hard times in his life yet he does a great job at healing himself by expressing his emotions through his music and his singing and has also healed all of his fans around the world 💖 he's a Doctor of Music in my opinion 😊Keep doing what you're doing Avi. Thank You, love you so much 💗
I don’t listen to ptx as much anymore, not because they aren’t brilliant, just because I felt avi grounded the whole group, now they’re just “a band”. I’m so happy he’s returned to his roots :)
I feel sad that after he left my energy kinda went flat. Don't get me wrong, I still admire Pentatonix because no one can do what they do with their voices, but my spark for them just isn't the same. I wish them all the best especially Matt who had some really big shoes to fill and I hope that the Pentaholic family accept him for his talent and what he is bringing as an individual to the group. Avi will always be my heart...always.
Fay Samuel this same thing happened to me. I stopped caring about the new music they put out. I used to drop everything whenever they released something but now I just glance at it and can’t even be bothered to listen. It’s sad because I loved them so much but now I just can’t get excited about them. I wish them well but I think I’m kind of over PTX now. :(
razrv3lc Totally agree with you, Pentatonix got me into singing and I started singing Avi's parts when I was 14 (4 years ago) and now that hes gone from Pentatonix I just dont get the same feeling when listening to Matt, the amazing tone of Avi's voice can never be replaced. I've purchased Avi's album though and will continue to support Avi until the end of time :)
SAAAMEE!!😢😢 When Avi left, i lost interest in pentatonix and started looking for other bands. Luckily i found interesting a cappela bands which i now find more interesting
Kathy Webster It's kind of sad you can't appreciate his new stuff. It's really beautiful, especially Fields and Pier. You should give it another listen.
I have listened and relistened his stuff and I don't care for it. He has gone so downhill in what he is doing. He is just not anyone I'll stream anymore. Sorry but that's how I feel. I've also done some digging into his REAL person and it's not what he puts forth. PTX has moved on and they are still amazing in all they do. He wasn't that hard to replace.
@@kathywebster2357 No one can truly replace him. Moving forward does not mean they're ever forgetting him. And he is a lovely person. If you are referring to Trisha, you don't know the whole story and making mistakes doesn't mean being fake; it means being human.
I'm pretty sure what I feel goes beyond sad at missing him. I think I've been in mourning ever since I watched the video when he said he was stepping back. My life changed the day I happened upon "Little Drummer Boy", and when he quit I felt like Cinderella after midnight; the magic was gone from my life.
I'm literally sobbing. I was lucky enough to see Avi perform with Pentatonix, and then 2 years later, I got to see PTX again with Matt. He did great, but everyone still misses Avi... #TeamAvi
Evelyn Bryan I agree. They sound great, but it's as if some of the heart has gone out of the music. It's more commercial, mass market pop. Amazingly executed, of course, but it just doesn't speak to my heart. :'(
I appreciate him doing what comes from his heart and not continuing towards something that does allow him to pursue his musical expression of who he is..I actually love the Folk sound. Good for him! To know what you need and be able to pursue and express that genuinely is how we grow. He has more freedom to use his other tallets with instrumentation and I think it's rad

I don’t know the background to this video but….I’d like to imagine after Avi left ptx- he grabbed his guitar, went on a mountain, and sang this song. And you can see how happy he is in this video- he looks so at peace and dare I say it- free. Love him to death
There's so much to being a musician especially with a big name like he does. He is definitely free in his career doing as he pleases. I will always support him and his decision.
