I remember boarding a flight to El Salvador with this same interior layout back in 2019. I had a great experience good food and they even offered a pillows and blankets, crazy how much Avianca has changed I started flying with Delta now
Exactly! They were my go to airline for my yearly flights from IAD-SAL. They always had wonderful service, but it seems even before the pandemic their service started being abysmal. Which is why I have committed to flying only United now, great airline!
@armoredgaming2352 I've read & being told that United airplanes economy seats don't really recline ? Just seat extends instead !! That'll give me backaches like they said ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
Excellent video, I will be trying this route in a month onboard the A319. Also will fly AV455 GUA-SAL via XPL a few days before on the same plane so hope to enjoy the last vestige of Taca, thanks for the review
@@WSAirplanes Honestly it was kinda cool getting that plane with the old interior for my return AV368 back in august flight. The plane had no IFE, so I ended up reading the ghost map for the entire flight. Honestly, the most notable thing was the fact that they gave an entire croissant sandwich along with rose water and strawberry cookies (didn’t know that flavor combo existed), coffee, and a bottle of water, unlike your video where they only gave a muffin and drink.
I like that your channel shows flights to central amercan and within. You should try small airlines like Sansa in Costa Rica or la costeñita en Micaragua they do domestic flights in their respective countries. Great video! Keep it up ! #CentroAmerica

Those business seats look great. Latam offer economy seats in the front. The flights longer than 5 Hours are a pain. I prefer to take a bigger plane with flat seat instead of flying on those little ones or 5-6 + hours really
I learned that Copa, Avianca's main competitor in Central America, offers full flat bed seats on their MAX aircraft, and their 737s feature industry-leading recliner seats, providing superior legroom and recline. I believe it's time for the airlines consider upgrading the seats on flights lasting longer than 4 hours, especially for red-eye flights. I've never flown with LATAM before, so perhaps it's worth exploring their offerings as well.
9:16 I also had the same issue with the a320. My first flight from IAH-SAL in august was on a plane with that interior. Also the IFE controls suck on that plane, the touch sensitive pad was kind of difficult to control.

My wife and I flew Avianca, "Executive" class, MIA to SAL, on a 319 seat 1a and 1b, . (Sept '22)..terrible service, a ham sandwich plus basic liquids available : coffee , water, and a juice...no liquor, beer or wine or anything else even if I wanted to pay extra for them....that was all on a 2 hour 50 min flight, paying over 650 dl air fare . I have never seen such lack of attention in this class of service with Avianca...

A decir verdad, lo dudo. Avianca ya venia mal desde antes, ya mostraba deficiencias en el servicio. La competencia interna en colombia es dificil con las de bajo coste... Si la pandemia no hubiera occurido... mi teoria es que a lo mejor dieran un servicio como el de American en clase economica ofreciendo pantallas tactiles con los interiores de este video. Pero el servicio legacy en definitiva se hubiera ido. Saludos!
This layout was the ultimate seating before pandemic which only a few pre 2020 A320neo had... Avianca is going to get rid of them eventually... we miss their legacy service, thanks for watching!
@@WSAirplanes is it just me or did N788AV get its seats retrofitted with the new disgrace of an interior after you filmed this video… I saw a video uploaded 25.12.2022 but filmed 13.12.2022 with no IFE screens on N788AV. I would imagine it would be a waste of money to retrofit a 3,5 year old plane as airplane seats aren’t cheap, and it had the “new” pre-pandemic seating, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the plane was indeed retrofitted. Yes it’s ridiculous how Avianca has changed. We have been going to Central America for the last 23 years and it’s crazy the difference from back then to now. I just came back from El Salvador and you can’t even recline your seat, no tv nothing. Had to pay 3 dollars for a water I have no desire to use Avianca ever again. It looks like this video was published 3 months a go. If this is truly when it was recorded wow what a difference. We got nothing as I said. Had to pay for a drink of water. Ridiculous what they have turned to.

anyone know if row 4 right behind the premium is better than the normal economy seats? I see them free to select as an " economy" seat in front of rows 5-10 which are "plus". Is there limited leg room?
Is the same seat from row 5-10 the difference is that is located behind avianca premium which has more recline, so you will have less space due to the back of the seat. The legroom is the same as row 5-10

Is sad what AV came down to, I used to enjoy flying with them, never took a flight to Colombia in any other airline other than AV, but with their new cabin configuration they came up with ill never be in one of their planes again, not to mention the over priced tickets for the poor cabin design.

Esa aerolinea es pesima. Ni siquierate dan agua en un vuelo internacional. Sino pagas extra no tienes sillas reclinomaticas y te tienes que ir sin poder mover la silla. No hay acceso a cargar el celular. No la recomiendo para nada.
Hace menos de 1 mes, comenzaron a tener agua de "cortesia" y no sabia de esto hasta que vole con ellos a Toronto hace 1 semana. Subire el video pronto!
