Here's a video I found that was helpful to me for Gas welding... It's an Oldie... but it takes you from NOVICE to welding a cluster of tubes...

Can you imagine what these guys who made this video in 1979 would think if they knew that their work had helped to educate thousands of people across the world for the next half a century and it would still be relevant.

Taught A&P school in the late 70s/early 80s, lead for aircraft welding, assembly, and rigging….. oxy acetylene and TIG welding. This movie would have been nice to have for class!

The visuals of the puddle and flame + the commentary of what's happening in real time is so helpful here. Did this in trade school last spring and it was a disaster for me - especially when pairing the torch with the filler rod. Going back this winter I have more confidence now. Thanks for sharing ! 🙏 BTW, is that guy really wearing a shirt and tie underneath his coveralls 🤣

The interviewer reminds me of an investigative interviewer. Very thorough questioning. I rarely used my mini setup but I'm really wanting to try gas welding on all types of material. Gas currently cost around 20 and 40 bucks. I would love to have one of those pistol like torch handles that use less gas.

me too... but I feel fairly comfortable with tig now too... but the Argon is Very expensive too...

get the cobra torch. This is the way to weld chomemoly, not TIG, there's certification for TIG too, not gas. Gas welds are much more resistant to breaking from flexing than a tig weld.
