Amazing video jack really learned some new things! could you make a video on how to relink footages after your edit is finished to take a delivery export?
Good morning from Brazil, mate! Awesome video as always. Let me ask you something unrelated to the topic. Do you think it's possible to get work remotely as an AE (since I'm located in Brazil)?
Remotely where exactly? USA / UK or other big markets like that I'd say it's unlikely unless you already have contacts there. Especially with the industry in the turmoil it's in at the moment. The union here in the UK estimates that more than 70% of the film and TV crew here are currently out of work so any jobs that are running are gonna hire them first. Honestly remote workers from other countries for AE work are extremely rare. Especially since most Assisting jobs are not posted online. They are hired through direct contacts. It's why networking is so important. Sorry man, wish I had a more optimistic answer for you!
Thanks for this video! I'm confused about something though. What's the difference between "autosave interval" and "forced autosave" in the bin settings?
So the auto save interval is for background save but this won't interrupt you if you are currently making changes and editing in the bin. So if it's set to every 3min but you've been editing a seq constantly for 5min it will wait for you to take your hands off the keyboard for a bit before saving. A forced auto save timer will save regardless of what you are doing so long as computer is unlocked and avid is running. Occasionally this can cause avid to freeze for a moment or two while it makes the save (though not so much these days, it's pretty hidden in the bg).
Nope, that was for a video where I was showing how to import different kinds of alpha channels. Just for demonstrating. For alpha ingest best to use the same as everything else, link and transcode :)
