1:43 Is this only true for American English? I have checked "youglish" with the term "recommend you to" and found 2 videos of (native I guess) British accent people speaking using this term. PS: I have checked ChatGPT and it said that `recommend you to` is not grammatically correct.

Thanks again, Kevin!🔥🔥🔥 But I’m a little bit confused and I would be grateful to you if you somehow explain why this may happen?- long time ago I studied “English Grammar in Use” Third Edition by Raymond Murphy, and on the page 110, Unit 55 it is said that “should” is ok. And they give an example- “Jane suggested that I should ask your advice”. Kevin, I understand that sometimes it’s a big difference between school English and real English, but can I ask you to pay attention to this issue ones again? It’s very important for me to be precise. Thank you so much in advance!🙏🙏🙏

The problem is BrE native speakers have no problem saying "recommend me a good book" What's more, BrE speakers don't use the subjunctive mode in everyday conversations: AmE: His doctor recommends that he exercise every day. BrE: His docotor recemmends that he exercises every day.
@fredylopez2477
@fredylopez2477 6 месяцев назад
Are you from the USA or UK. ?. I've never been to UK,so I don't know how they express it and I understand that americans say: - "recomnend a goid book TO me.". - his doctor recommends that he exercise everyday.
