I know I am late to the game with this video being almost 2 years old but I just wanted to tell you guys that you are a breath of fresh air!!!!! The way to listened to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to choose joy was beautiful!!!!! Despite a very junky day full of frustration and you were given the run around!! You exemplified such humility and obedience!! What an amazing example to your children of not just talking the talk but walking the walk as well!!!!! I totally think God blessed you with that new camp ground and great spot because of your choices to not give the enemy a foothold and to act as Jesus would want you too!!! It's amazing that the rv park's wiring is backwards. You would think that if they know about it, they would change it asap, so nobody would get hurt or have their equipment damaged. I wonder if their insurance company is aware of how they operate their business?
So we are native San Diego,,2 yrs ago we went full time...we stayed 3wks in Pico Pico..stayed on the good side way in the back...we discovered by the 2nd night that around 11pm..boarder patrol comes Burling down the road right in the park..i came out and talk to them..they said they do this almost every night...next morning we found a lady right outside the fence..she was crossing the border with a coyote. .and got lost..we helped her.made sure she ate and gave her something to drink..but this is what is going everyday...I thank God we could help her
Been binging you guys now and will be caught up by hopefully end of this week. But this was a demotivating video for me as my family is planning on going full time RVing towards the end of the year, UNTIL 14:41...where you did a great thing and realize life is to great to be upset over a small thing. You guys are great and love the attitude and love how humble you all are. God brought me to your videos and I’m learning a lot about how we will go about RVing and the attitude we will try to bring in situations like this.
My home campground is Pio Pico, and when we first joined 25 years ago, the place was fantastic. Then when the membership changed about 5 years ago the campground went to the bird. And that blond lady is soooo rude all the time. Even though we’ve been long time members we have to show all our paperwork every single time. We went in on Labor Day and then Christmas and yes it rained a lot, but out of the 25 years going out last year was the first time at Pio Pico that it rained. A few years ago we spent Christmas at Menifee and got rained on. Hemet trails was nice but we rented a trailer. But really all and all, the weather is great. In fact no rain at Pio Pico this whole year. The only other place we stayed in California was San Benito that the rangers we kind of rude. If you to come back to the area, Oakzanita in the best in the San Diego area.

Oakzanita is my home when in San Diego County. For future reference. The lady you speak of who was rude is Sheila. Who also owns Oakzanita so draw your cards wisely She can be really awesome, but she has bad days FORSURE... LOL
I noticed most of your complaints had to do with the lack of full hookup spots. Most of the thousand trails parks I have been to either have limited or no sewer hookups. There is always a dump station and all of the full timers travel with a portable waste tank. I think you would have a better experience if you only plan on having electric and water. Some of the best locations and nicest campsites I’ve stayed at were like this. And example is the Thunderbird campground in Monroe Washington. You can get a full hookup spot in half of the campground if there is one available. The other half of the campground is water/electric only but the spots are right along the river. I always opt of the river front spots since I have become used to using the portable waste tank every 7-10 days.
Interesting, because all of the thousand trails parks we went to had full hookups, this was the first with half the sites not having full hookups. This was back when we had our fifth wheel. We now travel in a Class A and do a lot of dry camping. We prefer it actually. ☺️
San Benito, Morgan Hill, Lake of the Springs and many other TT parks all have electrical issues. Instead of fixing they simply reclassify as tent sites. They purchase older rundown parks and do very little to upgrade. They like to call the TT experience “rustic”.
Has nobody ever suggested that you make your own adapter? You buy both end of an electric plug 50amp and 30amp. Wire the male regularly and the female reverse. Use it when you find reverse polarity and it fixes your problem..
Haha yeah he definitely talked about doing that. It was one of the first things he brought up when we went through that. We went to the hardware stores to try to find the things he needed and no one had the parts. He also searched and searched online for one, because he kept saying, “I don’t understand why they don’t just make adapters for this.” 🤣

The thousand trails in Oregon have been great so far! We really like seaside & whalers rest. Long Beach WA is amazing too. La Connor wasnt my favorite place TBH…we were supposed to stay at pio pico and cancelled after hearing so many terrible things. We are at rancho oso though so 😬😬😬 wish us luck
I haven’t been there In a while but called ranger station a couple weeks ago and they say no more lottery system. The “north side” with no sewer has all been re-wired with new electrical boxes. All pools a jacuzzis resurfaced. Ranger days a lot of changes. Sooooo?
Strange how people can complain about a $500 year long membership that pays for itself with one reservation alone. Literally, every other reservation and all your utility usage is free after that. Lol Also strange why you'd pack up everything to look for a spot on the South side instead of just walking over first to check it all out and put your tag on the post when you actually find your site. Didn't think that one through well. That's not actually the parks fault. Lol I spent most of last year at Pio Pico. It was peaceful. The roses everywhere are gorgeous. The pools are lovely. My AT&T hotspot works on the South Side. I met some great people and the staff was mostly wonderful, and more personable than the staff I met at Menifee. Never had an electrical issue on the South "good" side. My plug did melt onto the outlet once in the H section of the North "bad" side and they've since closed that entire section to re-do the electric posts.
Question for you. We’re planning on some long term traveling over the next few years I have a large 5th wheel to hold our stuff but I have a small 6’x10’ trailer that we have all of our bikes, kayaks, other stuff, and some stuff for our business. I’m just wondering if it’s gonna cause problems at campground if I pull both trailers? The trailer is smaller than a second vehicle and I’d basically unhook it from the 5th wheel and park it up front. Just wondering if that’s gonna be a problem and I need to figure out a way to haul everything in/on the camper or what y’all’s thoughts are?
Hey! It really depends on where you stay. Some rv parks are strict and others are lax. If you boondocking often, then you just have to find a spot big enough! Campgrounds can be tight and it could limit you depending on your over all length. 🤷🏻♀️
Rockin' and Rollin' ok thanks. I wasn’t planning on leaving it attached while parked. I’d probably tuck it in sideways in front of kingpin but just haven’t decided if I wanna haul it. Might just bring a follow vehicle instead.
We have a thousand trails park in St Clair county that's not the greatest. Supposedly its under new ownership but I'm not sure we ever want to go back and try.
You guys have nothing but trouble with this RV living thing. It might be a good idea to change the plans and homestead. I know of a good KOA is Austin,Texas that has openings. They offer a good AYCE breakfast and its Austin, the music capital of America. Jenna's hair looks great all the way down. It makes her look 5 years younger.
😂 project your voice hahaha. So sorry you got a crappy spot at Thousand Trails. We only paid for the basic membership just so we could get 2 weeks in a spot before we head down to another campground in FL. It was cheaper to do that and if we liked it enough we would do a bigger membership but we haven’t wanted to renew it.
Yep totally. It did pay for itself in the time we used it, and if we were in a situation where it’d be useful again, we’d renew just a year. But it’s not worth buying the premium packages.
@@RockinandRollin Be careful to make sure your membership dues don’t renew on their own and get charged that $400+. The day after I wrote this they tried to make it come out of the bank but our card that we had on there was expired. So they don’t give you any email warning that I can remember ready about.
I have heard this actually! A lot of people had this happen, I actually called like a couple weeks before ours was set to renew and talked to someone in person and canceled it for that very reason. Thanks for the heads up!!

I wish I had watched this video and a few others before we wasted our time at Pio Pico last week. We were going to be there for two weeks, but nope. No phone connection, no TV, and no internet. I work from "home" so this was not a good fit.
Such a bummer you had a lousy experience in San Diego. I love Jamul because that's where my church is and there my love for it ends haha. Yeah and I have to admit, Jamul does have some amazing ocean views! And I’ve heard they have some good hiking. One particular trail I pass every Sunday is almost always packed with cars.
It is probably an old park, it needs to update their electrical, but the other parks in the area keeps the rates low. They probably living just barely making their bills.

Watched this because I thought it was nice you would take the time to post a review of this location. But apart from the reverse polarity issue, your review is more about your inability to handle what are all very typical RV lifestyle situations. Rather than attempt to damage the reputation/image of 1000 Trails maybe look in the mirror a little more than you look into a camera. We have been using 1000 Trails for over a year at multiple locations and they are exactly what they claim to be. Your privilege is getting in the way of your reality.
Never been to Thousand Trails... don't have a camper either. But we did a cabin at a KOA outside Duluth this summer. And it rained constantly too. And way to keep the right attitude, even though so often that's the last thing we want.

Cuz you will develop a crippling addiction to alcohol and descend into a dark abyss of despair as everyone in your life that loves you begins cutting ties with you, one by one, as they find solace in the idea that the person they once knew and loved was no longer alive...and the bumbling, sloppy, unhygienic mess of red blotchy skin that now stands before them, cursing nonsensical noises to no-one while pissing themselves and then vomiting and falling face first in their own puddle of disgust...this complete and utter zombie is not somebody they now recognize, but instead, a mere shell that vaguely resembles someone they once held close.... And who wants that? So, don’t drink every time he says, “reverse polarity”. Perhaps, instead...do a jumping jack. Nobody’s life has ever spiraled into soul-crushing despair from doing lots of jumping jacks! You’ll just look dumb. But that’s cool. REVERSE POLARITY!

I love watching your alls adventures but I'm going to ask a dumb and naive question. Why didn't you just move to another RV park? There's gotta be a thousand of them around there. Great videos! Thousand trails is an annual membership fee that you pay to use their parks throughout the year. We already spent so much money doing repairs we didn’t want to spend more money on an RV park, since we already paid the annual membership for thousand trails, we wanted to take advantage. Plus RV parks in Southern California are VERY EXPENSIVE, most are about $50/night or more. So for a two week stay would’ve been at least $700. Luckily we were able to get into the other Southern California thousand trails park for the remainder of our two week stay, and then were free to get out of California.
