Very progressive of the early '80s to have a man not notice his car's almost out of gas and then blame a woman not even there for somehow having it topped off. Was this scene even part of the plot? Looks like an episode where they needed to use driving footage and a ridiculously contrived scene just to pad time.

Way back when one got full service at the self-service pump that didn't have a vapor capture system and the gallons delivered meter spun faster than the price meter. At least the ice picks were sturdy.

Gotta admire a car that's so invulnerable, even the tires are impossible to be tampered with. I've also got to admire how Michael knows what's happening to K.I.T.T. but acts like he doesn't even notice because he also knows K.I.T.T. can take care of himself.

KITT primarily runs on hydrogen fuel but can pretty much run on any liquid fuel hence why we rarely see KITT pumping petrol (or ‘gas’ /gasoline)

The irony is that KITT also had the standard original gas cap the whole time! It's just above and behind the left back wheel. You can clearly see it in every episode, and here as 3:32. The stock gas cap is even replicated in every. single. miniature.

I always thought in the pilot it was mentioned how KITT didn't need gas? In any case, I think this was the only time KITT needing gas was referenced in the show, so I wonder if it was a goof made by the writers. Anyway, KITT is a fantastic looking car and I still love the series and have numerous models and VHS and DVD collections. ❤

There's a lot of tech we now take for granted that originally saw the light of day in sci-fi shows. Handheld tablets and communicators, video calls, drones, VR, wireless earphones, automatic doors, voice activated AI, translators - all were shown in sci-fi shows years before they became gadgets we use daily, many of which were ridiculed.

Is K.I.T.T really four-wheel drive tho? I remember that episode, I forgot which one tho, where both of his rear wheels are lifted, and he can't drive away from the situation despite his front wheels touching the ground. Also K.I.T.T is a modified 1982 Pontiac firebird trans am
