I use to have a Chrysler 200, wasn’t a bad car. Only thing that went out was the thermostat which was common on them. Otherwise it gave me good faithful service the time I had it, trades it for a tundra. Don’t regret it. As for Tesla, they are cool, and accelerating in them is fun but interior felt cheap for the money. The auto braking was atrocious at low speeds and I don’t enjoy you have to access everything from the screen. I could buy all the 99 Camrys ever and each of them will outlast the Tesla and go further miles wise in one trip.
@Cheepchipsable
@Cheepchipsable Год назад
For the prices of Tesla, the interiors are way lacking. IMHO acceleration is over rated. Sure it's fun, but it's uncomfortable and dangerous to accelerate that fast most of the time.

I watched a guy on RU-vid fix a Kia Sportage that had a loose connector, under the front hood, under the fuse box. How he found it was fascinating. The car had been to numerous Kia dealerships, and nobody had found the real issue. One loose connector plug, under the fuse box, into one of the several fuse box blocks, in the fuse box. What an amazing catch by that mechanic.

Informative Video thanks, however, I have a 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range and its the best car we have ever owned. We have a range of 330 miles. It did cost us $600 to install a Tesla charger at home, but got a $300 rebate from out Utility company. It cost us .11 cents per KWH (48 Miles per KWH) while charging at home off peek. We drove it from Indianapolis, IN to Mesa AZ without "Range Anxiety". You just put in your destination and it guides you to the appropriate Supper Charger, tells you % of battery when you get there and how long to charge it, not sure where you got the 8 hours charging time from, but the average time was 10 minutes to 20 minutes for us. At our rental house we use the 110V standard plug to charge and yes it will take up to 12 hours, but for running around town we do not needperfect

I've owned my 2012 Hyundai Elantra for 11 years and have had great service with it. I'm sitting on 264,000 miles on the clock and still have the original AC system and no major repairs and still don't lose any of my fluid levels between oil changes. This has been the most reliable vehicle that I've ever owned and I've owned a lot of different makes including Toyota's, Honda's and Nissan's and a few domestic cars and trucks. Quality really went to shit with the huge overprice Pacifica and the rear drive 300. Warranty and recalls were killing my paychecks so i got out into manufacturing. My Mother once had a 2010 Jeep Patriot with a 2.4 and CVT. It had stalling issues too. I don't know if they ever worked out the problems with those but the CVT even had some sort of failure while with less than 40,000 miles. It was repaired under warranty. We don't have it any more. We traded it for something else. We would come to a stop at a light and then it would just stop running. Or one time on the road I could feel it wanting to stall. Other than that I never was in any other vehicle that had a stalling issue. The worst thing is that although it could be restarted it was sometimes hard to do when it happened. It starts up fine when parked on parking lot or driveway but when it stalls it is difficult to restart. I am glad she was rid of that thing. I was fearing for her that it could be a potentially deadly problem depending on where it happens.

Yes the Tesla needs to be on this list. Spot on about not having high enough AMPERAGE in your current circuit box. Standard is 100 Amps, and if you charge one of these Teslas on a 220V service you start losing the AMPERAGE for other large appliances in your home, washing machine, etc. Upgrading to a 200 Amp service can cost a few thousand $ USD... if you live in a apartment you don't have the ability to upgrade anything so running an extension cord out your window on 120v will take you 48 hrs to fully charge up !! Ludicrous. My regret is not on your top 5. as ive said on your channel before, My only car i didn't properly research was a 2013 BMW X5 which i bought used in 2018 w approx. 94k miles and sunk nearly $2k in repairs over 8 LONG MONTHS ! traded it in for a 2013 Lexus ES350.

In Sweden and Finland, I don't know Norway, but I think it's the same. People use 11kW chargers (3 pfase 400 V), 55kWh in five hours. Some others use 3.7 kW chargers (2 phase 240 V and 16 A fuse, which many newer houses get along with even though the heating also is electrically. In Sweden Tesla's are popular among the taxi drivers/companies, who drives 500,000 in maybe 4-6 years. Two very important things with Teslas are, a very functional media system and pre heated batteries. To be able to use the capacity of fast chargers in cold weather the battery need to be pre heated an this starts a number of minutes before you arrive to a predicted charging station. At least here in the Nordic countries electricity is, or has been and will be in the future, quite cheap, and gasoline and diesel will not be cheap in the future, and isn't cheap now. Diesel about 2 USD/litre!

Best advice is to ignore their recommended oil change interval and change it no more than every 5000 miles. Some say that disabling the auto start/stop system each time you drive can help too as it reduces the number of startups, which is when the most wear happens. You also want to avoid very long idle time such as hitting the remote starter repeatedly to warm it up on cold days. It's better to get in and go so it warms up faster. The newer oils can last 10k miles, but the problem is that a lot of gunk and carbon is floating around in it and can eventually clog up your rings and oil passages to the bearings.

I don't wanna get rid of my old jeep was last year they were made American before fiat took over. It may be rusty, but heat works great 👍, old 4.7 that you have to add oil to, but that's cheaper that buying brand new it's paid off. 😉 hate to say it they don't make um like they used too, at 192k and climbing. I'm falling apart the older I get so some oil consumption is ok so I buy enough oil to make sure it don't run dry checking those old fashioned dip sticks lol.

Great car to drive but you better make sure you could afford the maintenance. If you ever need touch up paint… GOOD LUCK!!! So got my driver's license in 2021 on my 31st birthday it was a cold October 30th day but it was sunny out. Anyways my mother gave me her old Kia Rio it was a 2013 model it sat for months out in the driveway it had 130,119 miles now it has almost 140,000 miles on it. Burns alittle oil which is normal for any old Kia anyways I get the oil changed every 4,000 miles sometimes under that. Engine is still going strong transmission as zero issues, going to drive it till the wheels fall off

@mikelemoine4267 Год назад
As it gets a little older, some will add a slightly higher weight oil to reduce consumption. For example if it calls for 5w-20 you can go to a 5-w30 (or even 5-w40 if in a hot climate or it uses a lot). The engine tolerances are worn out a bit so the thicker oil will flow through just fine, but won't be consumed as fast. It will give a little extra support to the old bearings as well. They can last so long as you take good care of them.

In a perfect society, all these companies and consumers would put their minds together with the knowledge of what works and doesn't work in car design to make some perfect vehicles that last nearly forever. I mean, if the politicians and corporations REALLY cared about the environment, shouldn't we quit throwing away vehicles by designing them better? Yeah, that's not gonna happen.

Chrysler 200, now discontinued, had that horribly loud Fiat gasoline engine that sounded like a Diesel. That thing was severely underpowered and loud, but not attractively loud. It was loud the way a garbage disposer in your sink is loud. It was not a "sexy" sound. It sounded like a struggle to get out of its own way. If you buy something called Fiat/Chrysler, it's your own fault. You've been warned. I'm European and in Europe Fiat is considered one level above a bicycle. Even Škoda beats it.

What about a early 2000's,( 2002-2010), Chevy Aveo 4dr sedan? Also are Kia Rio 4dr sedans from the same time period that bad?
@retiredsnowbunnyhunterx5106
The only thing bad I heard about the kia Rio during those period is the timing belts snapping destroying the engine. But I'm sure it was cause most people neglected the maintenance schedule on them. It say change the belt at 60k. Many drove past 60k thinking they could go 90k to 150k. I just recently purchased a 2006 kia Rio LX for $400 dollars with 57k on it. It had already been tuned up and new tires. Body and interior was nice too. I went ahead an replaced the timing belt, water pump, pcv valve, cabin air filter, camshaft position sensor, battery, transmission fluid and filter change since it was close to 60k an been sitting the last 6 years.I know the history of the car also as it been sitting up not driven. But the owner did tune it up with new plugs, coil pack, new tires, and alignment before I got it. Now I have 64k on it so far it's been reliable to me.
