⚡Amazon Flex also has retail deliveries. Watch what happened when attempting my first one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fWAgM6yarpc.html&t
Under the listed options there is a link in red for “more options” and you can select handed to customer there. When stuck go to driver help and it will either let you mark a package as delivered or can call CS and they can mark as delivered.
Thank you, unfortunately it's such a bang-bang like oh hi, yes here's your package then "oh wait..." Now I know, gotta take an extra second and click on that option
The 5 minute late thing is definitely a perk about Walmart; as long as you reasonably can deliver within the hour you can proceed with the delivery but you are also considered on time if you are up to 15 minutes late; and you have to be "on time" (meaning no more than 15 minutes late) 65% of the time. So you can usually squeeze in a DD or Uber if a good one comes.
I had that issue yesterday trying to complete the delivery and drive away without hitting the button…😂😂 I had to drive all the way back to the address…🤔
Hey my advice on being late is how you view it. They allow you to get there 15 min early but 5 minutes late. So basically, if your block is at 4:15, see it as you start at 4:00, and have 20 minutes until you’re late. (This has saved me from being late so many times as I’m about 45 minutes to an hour away from sub same day station)
What I hate about Amazon is depending on the warehouse I go to theres connectivity issues. There was a time I couldn’t check in even though I was at the warehouse on time because the app was going slow and literally just four minutes into the shift they canceled it and put it on my standings, and they don’t compensate you for the drive either, so unless you find a replacement block, which they typically don’t do for me, you would’ve driven all those miles to the warehouse for nothing.
I hate when I pull up and the customer is outside. They always want to grab and go and I’m like you have to sign. I always ask them “can I leave this at your door?” and usually they say yes so I avoid the signature steps.
I usually do the 6am to 9am shifts before I go to my normal job so I don’t have many that I need to hand to them. But sometimes I catch people heading to work or watering their gardens lol
Yea, I had far deliveries before. I remember for an AMZL block, the warehouse didn't have enough packages for everyone. So, they gave each driver 1 package. Delivery distance was like 45 mins away, but the pay was decent. Of course the drive back home was maybe 15 mins plus that 45 mins. Sighs. That was a rare occurrence, but I didn't mind it. The customer was nice to. He offered me a soda, and he took his package. Shoutout to Darnell in your warehouse!
If it's a frequently delivered location, amazon only gives you 1 or 2 (preferred delivery locations), there is a drop down below that to get to the other options, also if you put your phone into airplane mode, it will usually let you move the pin
I had the exact same issue when I delivered to the actual person instead of the front door. It was awkward me having to ask the customer to wait because I needed to take a pic of the package! Awkward silence as I fumble through the delivery options in order to swipe completed!
Yes there is always eyes watching. I hate ones that wait on me. I like ones I leave at door. Some of customers are rude. I just started and don't know how to sort the packages properly yet. Food deliveries and rideshare isn't this stressful.
You can scan each package and it'll tell you the Stop #. Some warehouses only have the AAAA BBBB ETC driver aids that suck. Once you get your cart and you're ready to load, go to the stop list, scroll ALL the way up, there's a search bar on the top with the barcode picture, click the picture. It'll open up your camera , scan the barcode , it'll show cus info/stop #, sort your packages that way. Load your first 15-20 packages in the passenger seat, everything else in the trunk. Once the passenger seat is empty, bring package numbers 16-30, etc whatever will fit in the passenger seat. Hope this helps!
Anytime I pull into the warehouse loading zone and see that my cart has only like 1 or 2 bins as opposed to 4 or 5 bins, I know its one of the dreaded rural routes and I am going to be putting 80-100 miles on my car. I hate rural routes and I wish amazon would be transparent about these before we take a block. Everytime I get one I rethink my decision to do Flex
is that accurate? I took my first route today and i was pretty upset. 41 deliveries, 3hrs, $63 and it ended up putting 65 miles on my car. it took me 4+ hours and i still had 6 undelivered
@@samantharaye2700 I’m in Southern California. But every region/warehouse is a little bit different on frequency of city vs rural. But generally less packages on a 4hr block is not good news in my region.
If your taking a four hour shift plan to drive that four hours or more. Also you have to click the hamburger menu and then select handed to customer. Plan to hit swipe to finish AT THE LOCATION!!! I'm a dsp driver, ex flex driver, trust me on this. Swipe to finish on the spot. It will make a difference in your metrics. 😉 Yes, Amazon is watching you. Has your phone ever told you that Amazon is accessing your camera in the background? Put a small piece of tape over your camera.
You can't always go by seeing other cars loading packages to know where to go to pickup. One warehouse I go to does all of its loading inside for both regular drivers and for Flex.
Oh man, it was not leisurely for me here in Portland Oregon. I had a flex that took me out to west Lynn where there are gated ranches everywhere and no codes or instructions. It took me 4 hours to deliver a 2.5 hour flex. I also almost got attacked by dogs several times on that shift. 😅 It was the last flex I ever did. I prefer spark for the same kind of ease and pay is comparable.
Locked gate, no code? I place the package inside the gate if possible, if not then next to the gate. Take a picture and I’m gone. If they don’t like it, either don’t lock the gates give a code. Simple.
Hello, only been once. They weren't forgiving. The 3.5hr blocks I've taken, only two recently, paid $98. I've noticed that these blocks have about the same number of packages as 3hr, but the first drop is further away. One was at the edge of the delivery area for that warehouse, 30 min away. The other was 15 min. Also, for both blocks, the final delivery was an outlier, taking from 15 to 30 min. As to the navigation, they recently added a "new" warehouse to my area and when you look at the map, it shows your position as being in a field behind the building when you are in the loading area. I say "new" because this warehouse was originally "same day delivery" and was shut during COVID. It has reopened as a regular warehouse.
@@YourDriverMike it probably is since you would drive more on the highway or freeway than on street the issue is that the furthest stop is the last stop and the app will have the closest priority stops and mark them late even though your given a time frame to deliver and the stops are rarely close to each other they tend to have each stop minimum a mile apart
I literally had that same exact situation on my first Roadie order. Definitely will remember that next time. There is no option to hand to customer on Roadie either. 😂😂😂
The milles is what you do at the same time with uber. You dont know how much are you getting paid in 3 hours but you know where you are going and that stuff. Its like the opposite. And in uber you have to spot good times, in amazon you dont. Is not better one or another, it depends on your preferences and needs.
on the occasional times i hand the package to the customer i just take a picture of my hand so its just a black picture. could i get in trouble for doing that? i dont get why it doesnt have an option that says handed to customer.
Hi Christine! This is for audience retention, any 'closing' language usually triggers viewers abandoning the video so now I just keep delivering on the content and end the video with my last point etc. Thank for watching
In my area I did a route on sun 148 was a 5hr block 43 stops but I finished in two hours. Today i did 4.5hr route and finished in about 2hrs 33 stops. I have been doing it for over a year and it seems the 4.5 to 5 hr routes are the good paying ones and it has never taken me even close to the end time usually done within 2 to 3 hours for typically 90 bucks
How do you know when a new flex warehouse is about to open or when it opens near you. Because I have a fulfillment center 10 min away from home, but i have to drive 45 minutes to get to my nearest flex warehouse. Just wondering the possibilities of the fulfillment center 10 min away might turn into a delivery station in the future. Or they might be already in the process of bulging a new flex warehouse closer to home.
Hey, Mike! I appreciate your videos. I am just now getting into driving gigs. I applied for Flex today and was told they don't need anyone in my area. I live in Houston, TX! There are several warehouses within a few miles of me. But when the app asked me where I wanted to deliver, I entered the zip code where I live. But of course I'm willing to go out of my zip code! Do you know of any way to re-apply for more areas? Or is this just typical?
WOW that's really horrible 2 & 1/2 hours for $46.50, in my city offers start at $25 an hour, I don't accept those, they go to $35 an hr and I accept, 8-10 night runs I've seen as high as $88 total
You can check in as soon as you on property. At least do the photo on your phone. Then go inside. N show associate n they can check you in. And it works best to arrive 15 minutes early.
Pretty much what I did, I pulled off immediately after crossing that property line haha took the picture then drove around as it said "have an associate scan your ID" per usual. Just couldn't find that darn entrance! Now I know
why do you never mention the mileage write off? You can write off .655 of gross income for every mile driven once you pickup your packages all the way till you drop off your returns.
Typically in ridealongs I will post all relevant metrics however here I just verbally confirmed the miles so yes if I drove 40 business miles we'll take that x .655 to get the deduction.
Door dash counts the milage from point of travel until not taking orders, so flex counts the warehouse as stop #1 so the drive to the warehouse counts as well.
