I like him because Daniel is so sincere to help, very simple and generous to share his knowledge for others who are interested to start un into poultry business. God bless you! By the way, I'm a Filipino and am interested also to go into this business.
I am poor but used trees on my property to build my broiler leanto worked 7 days a week for a month to buy materials to do my roof and hardware material like what you have I am ready for my chicks to arrive since winter I will keep them in a shed with heat lamp till they start feathers then move them into the leanto for rest of their growing I will process them at 8 weeks clean out the leanto and get ready for my next batch I only have a half acre but doing what I can to have meat and veggies canning and dehydrating you never know when hard times hit better to plan ahead hard times are always easier when not hungry
DOC, that was great advice, chickens need good air flow regardless of the type of breed, just keep them dry and out of strong cold winds and plenty of space and they will do well, the only time my chickens get heat is when the winter when the temps. drop below 0 deg.F. but that is just one way i also give a little more food and put in a water heater so the can get fresh water.
Thank you so much sir am still raiseing some amount of money to start my chicken 🐔🐔 farm by the grace of God next year I will start my watching you for sierra Leone 🇸🇱🇸🇱
Thanks very much, Dr. Daniel, for sharing this. This is very important especially for us upcoming poultry farmers. I have not yet built my first chicken house on the farm. I am still researching on the construction of such. This information has really come in handy. Kindly consider doing a video on the actual dimensions of a good chicken house for layers. I know you don’t favour caged layers but you can mention how one for cages can also best be made. With love from Katete, Zambia
This is very true about the aeration in the poultry house. Doc, it is also important to note that, bird population per square meters is of paramount important
This is such great information! I am learning so much from your channel. I will be the next poultry farmer in Gambia and hugely successful because of watching your channel. :)
I live in the northwest usa. We have wind, rain, storms. Still, you are right! We just have to add a way to close it up during the storms. Very good video, thank you!
Thanks so much Dr Daniel l am new to your channel but l have already learned a lot, from your videos and l am planning to do poultry farming, Sindi from South Africa 🇿🇦
Watching from Accra, Ghana. Thanks Dr. Daniel. I watched four of your videos this evening. It's been so refreshing as well as learning new things about poultry farm. I started with the deep litter for about six years on a farm a few kilometers away from my home. It was quite difficult to manage and monitor. This resulted in stealing of both eggs and birds. I moved the farm to my house, use battery cages and we are now enjoying poultry farming. Thanks for all the information. Will subscribe.
Hello Doc. I like your videos so much. You are a true inspiration. I will like to start a poultry farm and would like u to be my mentor. From Cameroon.
Excellent advice! I am about to start building a couple new bird houses myself, I have a new batch of baby Silkie chicks and more ready to hatch soon and I just ordered a new big incubator & few Emu eggs & Turkey eggs to hatch. What can I say? You inspired me to expand my farm lol.. If this keeps up I'll have to start my channel on the birds instead of on my Company lol.. and I love what you said about the "step" label btw, family is family and my daughters have different fathers but were raised as sisters, no half or step anything's in my family. We just don't use those words.
Thanks so very much for this information indeed am getting there ,I have written down o the information in the videos you have been posting.thanks once again Dr Daniel
Hello Daniel. Could you comment on the importance of perches? Also, what of the ground; will a concrete or wooden floor do, or is the "soily" material necessary? And what amount of space do a certain number of birds need?
Perches and soily materials like good litters are good to exhibit their natural behaviors like dust bathing, chase and run, feather clapping, etc. But for commercial purpose concrete ground is preferable with Quality litters like wood shavings, or rice husk. And it's easy to clean too Space Layer: deep litter about 1.50ft^2 cage:0.50ft^
Hello Doctor, i'm a student in Denmark. I've have for a long been dreaming of having my own farm. The first goal was to make a sheep farm, but that looked so hard. I'm so gladly that i found your videos, the plan will now be to make a chicken farm in the near future (1-2 year).
Hello Dr. Daniel. I am relatively new here. I want to thank you for your very helpful videos. I have found them very educative. Now let's say you have already made the mistake of say building the chicken house against a wall. What can you do to salvage the situation?
I love your chicken house. You have great advice, thank you for your videos. I am not sure but it looked like the panting birds had clipped beaks. Does that contribute to breathing issues also?
Hello !!! I just started my own poultry farm but I am having problem, I bought some birds but more than have are dead. Pls will like to hear from you soon thank you .
Hello Dr. Daniel. Thank you so much Doc for the free farming skills you're sharing with the world to make the world a better place to live in. You have done your part. Guess the rest is up to us to follow suit. My worry about such open chicken house, how do you handle the burglary risks of theft? It's a common occurrence in African countries. How do you ensure the safety of your birds with all that open mesh? May be welding in some burglar proof iron bars too?
You can build your pen far away from easy access. We place ours 80 t0 90 frets from the farm fate. It can be more than that. I know we manage land, and must people build against the wall or fences, in such case we hope nothing bad happens. But is u have enough space you can build at the middle or far from easy reach.
@@derekjasonbossman5207 I bought them from a third party in Akim Oda who may also have bought them from a different party. I'm currently working on cutting the many middlemen by building my own egg incubator. The eggs have been in the incubator for almost 2 weeks now and the results as it stands are quite promising. When our incubator is successful, we will go into mass hatching and supply to local farms
Thank you for ur advise please. Found it very helpful. Could u please mention the measurements of that chicken house u a sitted in and how many birds it can accommodate. Also can you brood day one old chicks in it or not please.
