My mother has one of these autos of similar age with 14k miles. Owned from new and if it’s not been used fir a few days on first pulling away it will judder like the clutch as an issue then after that seems to set itself up and works perfectly. If not expecting that it would seem like a fault but it isn’t. Might be that’s what they noted. Good luck with it and thanks for the great content.

This is where going to a physical auction in person is worth it's weight in gold. you can properly case the car out,look at the bodywork, bump the shocks,check the trim, open the bay up and check for sludge/deposits in the oil filler cap/rocker / white stains on water hoses etc and ask the driver what's up with it.

other tricks are hand over the exhaust to check egr/carbon emissions and trusty old huge screwdriver to put on the engine block and use as stethoscope to check valves and pistons are in good nick and not knocking.

Looks like it has some extra cost interior trim options as well as the decals. Apparently the gearbox is an automated manual with electronic clutch.

I purchased a Scenic 2 weeks ago and my Report said exactly the same, the gearbox was fine & found out the Noise was actually a O/S Driveshaft clicking when turning the car, had it fixed and its fine, It seems BCA puts down mechanical issues to cover themselves & are not always correct.

I have friends in Ireland that has one of these, they use it for local driving and it’s rural roads where they live, perfect just for local shops and commute. They say it’s small but perfect for their needs.

That's the old AGS (robotised manual) gearbox - Only the 2020 Ignis' onwards feature the CVT auto. The AGS was notorious for clutch judder when starting from cold.

I have a17 plate Skoda fabia 7 speed dsg. Love the car and it’s never let me down but I pay an extended warranty for piece of mind in case there are any gear box problems

The reports are very poor, I've just bought a 14 plate punto, all green, no mention of anything, bonnet seized shut, so nothing could be checked, oil pi**ing out, loads, radio did power up (green tick) but no sound, ha, ha. It'll make a car so I'm happy enough but it's annoying to have to pay an extra 42 quid for a useless report.

I've seen them put that warning on if it's abit slow when you move it from park to drive etc. Might just be a funny noise. I won a l200 auto. Said exact same thing. Funny thing was that on BCA report it had a green tick. I bet your had a green tick too that's probably why you bought it. Just be weary. I didn't stand on for the l200 but I think its more common with autos. I reckon rac are covering themselves

It may be a rubber bushing that is worn and therefore makes the gearbox vibrate sometimes

I have one of these in black, same year as well. Id check the coil springs as the early ones like this and the one I have had poor coil springs fitted. They were too soft and made the ride horrendous, plus they had a tendency to snap, I ended up replacing all four as the 2 front ones had snapped at the top and the rears were starting to go the same way. Bearing in mind the car was only 3 years old and had something like 10 thousand miles on the clock.

The problem is after having left the car overnight and it's been cold and damp. There is judder when moving off and very pronounced vibration. It goes away after two or three pull-aways from standstill. The problem is it happens every time and almost feels like the car is about to stall. I've experienced it and many other Ignis owners too. Don't think there's a fix for is apart from replacement clutch and flywheel.

I’d have bought that, manual ones are great. Love the colour. Tidy car that should sell no problem imo. Dont like any small autos they are computer controlled trash. Cracking buy, Suzukis good news imo

I’m new in car trade. I did the same on a mini didn’t check the report it had engine tapping on it shitting it I was. When I went to BCA Brighouse drove it back to Dudley West Midlands. Jobs a good en.

don't think that is a CVT. sounds more like an automated manual. confirmed when you started counting gears as you don't get that on a CVT

Agree! Doesn't sound like a CVT. Usually the revs rise and the speed catches up later! As you said it sounds like an auto/manual.

Something fishy going on there, auctions is luck what you get, in the 1990's I used to pull out the bonnet release catch in the engine bay on escorts and fiestas so the bonnet would not open for people to chrck the oil or water etc I used to get cars really cheap

Weve all made that mistake but sometimes they do over exadurate these problems but sometimes they under exadurate... Its a gamble blind which is why many of win them cheap but ofcourse this is why they are loding 100million ... Whrn it goes physical again we wint be do lucky but then we wont have to gamble so much ... Well fone you rolled the dice and won even if by mistake lol 😂

Those things are like catmint to slightly stiff people who want to run errands locally. Easier to get into than most superminis, reliable, stupidly economical and available with an automatic transmission. Just the job. There's plenty about, so if it comes to it a used transmission should be easy to find. You'll be fine with the margin on that purchase. Popular colour, too.

Well……..most of these small engine ‘autos’ are actually an ‘auto clutch’ gearbox, like in this car. Even the full fat autos have clutch packs in them 🤓 But what do I know 🤷‍♂️
