Avon Park Florida - The City of Charm
Avon Park is a city in Highlands County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census the population was 8,836, and in 2018 the estimated population was 10,695. It is the oldest city in Highlands County, and was named after Stratford-upon-Avon, England.

Great Video.Very nice,lakeside city with a small beach also.Avon Park often gets overlooked because of it's more popular adjacent neighbor Sebring in Highlands county.Both charming cities!

What am I missing. Main Street is a highway. Most towns divert semi traffic out of downtown. What amenities are there in this City of Charm?The JAC is all I hear about. Seems the city has no imagination or resources to change much.

Most of the traffic is running North and South on US 27. SR 64 is technically a highway but dead ends at the Avon Park Air Force Bombing Range. So it has much less traffic than it did in the 1950s and before.

There is no beach..it is a small lake..this is right in the middle of Florida
