There's nothing wrong with people choosing to wear revealing clothes if they want. Performing live especially, it's really hard to not get overheated under spotlights. When I did live theatre, we were all pretty rank. Using the same costumes for a different performance every day or few while on tour, it's often better to have things that are easier to move in that breathe. That said, there definitely is a double standard when it comes to how women and men performing are expected to dress, which isn't okay.

Most people just found it really strange how she changed a lot from her 2nd to 3rd album, both in the looks and sound department. There's a short MTV documentary that portraits the whole change REALLY well, especially with her interviews across the years. But we got used to it, and only silly people expect her to put out music like the one she had on her debut album, hehe. She's doing fine now.

She will have sang it perfectly well and honestly I'd love to hear her voice in person. No effects and not a recording that's the only way to truly hear someone. It would still be as perfect as it could be but they will have added a little. It can be done so that nobody would even notice with effects that can be added to hide it even further still. Probably only some kind of AI could detect it. There will be a few effects too no doubt. But it takes nothing away from her performance. Her tone is incredible.

It's four years later now. God how time flies. We were blessed with that latest album. She really came back stronger that ever. I hope to hear her again. I'm getting old at 31 but I can confidently speak for the voice of a generation that Avril was absolutely legendary.

It really shows that she was classically trained as a child and teenager. Just the longevity and quality of her live vocals vs studio. She has flawless technique and she’s been able to maintain her tone and range over a pretty amazing career so far. Congrats on making another amazing album Avril!

Now days there is no studio and live almost every singer now days travels with $100k+ in studio equipment that stuff you see off the side of the stage flashing is not guitar or amp stuff and the guy in the back on the sound board is not just working the lights and volume they are working the studio items to make them sound allmost the same as a cd live. The mishaps at things like grammys and vma's show that when the singers are sounding like them self and they say it is a mic mishap or somthing in those line. Real singers that sound the same are like cheap trick,Alice Cooper and others from a time when that stuff was not out there you will find sound same on a LP and a stage are the same even now. Dont get me wrong I love Avril but saying she is like an artist from the past on and off stage with out all the equipment is not correct.

Avril said she was working on 20+ songs for her next album and she said she'll have a lot of songs in this style and she'll also have some rock style songs so don't worry she'll please everyone , can't wait for it :) (btw those asking for proof just search her live stream from november 2017 , and her interview earlier this year )

No, wait. Let's get that stratight. Back in November 2017, there was a Facebook Live where she said she had recorded 20+ songs, no one ever mentioned them all ending up on the album. She NEVER said that there will be more songs like this on the album neither "a lot". (Or give me a source.) There was an IG story waaaay back, I don't even remember when, where she said that she was working on punk rock songs to rock out on stage to.

yes this is like technically perfect pitch, so I may think they used some vocoder but it comes to perfect something that is already good. And it's very slight. She's still a good singer with better skills since 2002.

Now that was a flawless and powerful performance. I literally got goosebumps. It’s so great to hear her voice again and it's amazing that this is just her lead single from the album which has got me even more excited to hear the rest of her album. We just covered “Head Above Water” on my channel, hope you will watch it. Avril is back and stronger than ever and the emotion you hear in her voice during this performance is breathtaking. I'm blown away.

In 2002 in found Avril. Her songs often helped me when storms came to my life. Than came a big storm to her life. I prayed sometimes for her. And God keeped her head above water. I`m so happy she is back. Yes, and she is matured and stronger than before! Thank you God! :)
