A bit harsh. I took an early train, got a seat, but the train was still really packed from Worthing to Brighton. Enjoyed wandering around Brighton - good food and a few beers. Nice seats in the stadium. Enjoyed the day out even with the train issues.

From a Brighton fan it wasn’t our best atmosphere anyway but also our away atmosphere is better because a lot of our stands are mainly family stands
@afcbpodcast

Agree there. Nearly always the away contingent and more vocal than the home support.

From a Brighton fan it’s not the best atmosphere the only time we’ve had it rocking. Is when we play Chelsea at the AMEX Stadium we need the west stand and the east stand to sing to help with the atmosphere
@TheSeafordian
@TheSeafordian 7 месяцев назад
If you just want no hassle, just a couple of beers and some decent food, get the train to Lewes use one of the pubs then get the train one stop to the Amex. The journey is free.
@Cahps
@Cahps Год назад
the only people that really sing are the north stand which is the opposite side of the stadium and is only a small stand. the fact we have 2 massive family stands really kills our atmosphere... we're just too "friendly" of a club to let the away fans go near the non family stands

Will just put it out there I went to the game and made the mistake of not getting the train, took a chance with the bus and stood for 1 hour 15 minutes waiting for a bus to come next to the A27

You obviously have no clue the years of battle we had to get any sort of stadium. Sorry but think of it how you like but we love the place and are proud of how we fought to get it. Btw you can’t blame the trains on the on us. I have travelled up from Southampton in the past and I left early enough to for that not to be an issue. P.S can I have the fiver back that was once threw in a bucket at the Goldstone to help save Bournemouth from extinction

We came from North direction and car journey ok until we got to Lewes train stn. 😱 Awful experience with those mobile car App payment things; the train was packed going to Falmer and horrendous queues going back. I’d seriously avoid this awayday next season if we stay up. Seating comfortable, good looking stadium, great view but cramped concourse & all else with day as Tom said was 👎 👎

Not sure you can blame the club for the appalling service provided by the worst rail company in the country. In fact a lot of the things you base your opinion of the away day on have nothing to do with the stadium, game or club you're visiting whatsoever. London Road is a small, suburban station that isn't served by all the trains whether it's a game day or not. If you'd looked into the transport beforehand rather than just winging it, as you seem to have done, you'd have known that. The club is aware of the travel situation, and keeps the bars open all around the ground after the games to encourage people to spread out the times they leave the stadium. You can come into the home bars, in your colours, and get a drink after the match no problem, as long as it's not the Palace game. I wonder if you've seen similar reviews of the experience as an away fan at Bournemouth?

As a Brighton fan I would tend to agree with you. The problem being that every fan has to use some sort of transport, train, bus, coach and car with no parking to get to the ground. Shame it is where it is, but we had no choice on that. I also agree best away days are grounds in the middle of the town or city, park up go to pub then walk to the ground.
@NeonApe
@NeonApe Год назад
im a brighton fan, i dont really think you can change the train situation as most people go by train anyway due to parking in the area and most people want a drink. atmosphere varies to be honest depending on whos playing who and what not but definitely having the family stands over your way doesnt help the atmosphere from your side of the pitch. i watch all your videos regardless and your opinion is your opinion. keep up the good videos you make great content.
@JHNbazil
@JHNbazil Год назад
With the atmosphere I don’t think the stadium helps like we never hear the away fans in the north stand and it can in some games be a great atmosphere in the north stand but it is for sure dependent on who the opponent is. But you watch away vlogs and it’s loud their end in most but you never hear it in the North stand where my seat is.

Why would we get up for Bournemouth when we should’ve been 3-0 up, stadium is there cuz it’s literally the only place we could build a ground. Early trainers had no issues boys

Got to agree, I drove up, roadworks, were horendous, concourse, at half time, was a bit late going to get a drink at half time, and gave up, after 15 minutes in a que,

@elisprice1952 Год назад
a few points as a brighton fan, in terms of the stadium location, we genuinely needed anywhere in the area as the withdean was never sustainable and there was no where in the centre of brighton which makes the trains a shambles. In terms of concourse, not even a dig but it might have felt packed cause you sold out an away end maybe ?

Trains getting there aren’t too bad normally, plenty of pubs to drink in in town and probably a 20 minute wait for the train at the station, then only takes about 13 minutes to get there. You can also get a bus through the town and it takes about half an hour on a matchday, not too bad when you’re with your mates and have a couple of cans. Atmosphere is normally pretty decent in the North Stand and very good for the big games, the problem is that the away end is too far away, so we don’t really hear you and you don’t really hear us. Also, the sound is directed towards the pitch, not to the other stands. Unfortunately, the West Stand doesn’t join in as much as it used to, so it’s not as loud as it was in the first few seasons. Getting away from the ground can be a bugger because of the location, but it couldn’t be built in town and so that’s why we get so many early leavers. A lot of fans stay drinking the concourses for hours, if you stay for an hour you don’t experience any queues. If you don’t go into to town after the match then you haven’t really experienced the away day. Last train back to Bournemouth is at about 10pm.
@HardWater91
@HardWater91 Год назад
I mean, getting on a packed train at Southampton can hardly be blamed on BHAFC
@HardWater91
@HardWater91 Год назад
And yes, the train will fill up on the way to Brighton because we have many, many fans and it’s not like London where there’s a train every 5 minutes.
@HardWater91

You’ve gone about the away day in the wrong way, so hopefully you’ll take some suggestions on board and enjoy it more next time, if you stay up. Bournemouth is probably the team we least want to beat is this league, so the family stand/daytripper stand next to you lot was hardly going to be rocking. Brentford a similar size to BHAFC though 😂

@@afcbpodcast I live abroad so I cant really contribute in that way, but after reading other reports of the stadium there is only positive feedback and the word horrendous seems a bit over the top when you consider the access to many other PL grounds Horrendous must be a lot more suitable when describing the trip from the Southcoast to Newcastle.
