I don't get it. They ran onto the pitch hugged Milwall players and congratulated them, then went back to their seats. Not that much wrong; no violence and barley effected the pitch (grass). So can someone explain why it was so bad?
Tony Wayne it's because it's just general tradition. You just don't invade the pitch AT WEMBLEY . It's a special place for events and does not need people to run on the pitch . I see your point though , it just isn't great that it's Millwall fans that did it first
They also goaded Bradford Manager, Stuart McCall, some bradford players and the Bradford fans. Lucky it didn't get out of hand, could have been a whole lot worse.
Tom Crothers Yeah because people choose to support teams like Swansea and Middlesbrough over Chelsea... Stfu you win playoffs to go to the championship not the PL or a real cup final.
All love Dj wood That's what I'm looking forward to! As great as the atmosphere has been recently, it'll be nice to have a less tense game haha. It's stressful being in the bottom 3 with 4 games to go haha
Jesus Was Here lol try experience and 95th minute own goal where defender cleared it of the line and hit our keeper and went in in a play off semi final
Whilst I agree with you that they shouldn't run on the pitch and embarrass the club with a great win. The stewards probably did nothing and left the barrier open because A) They aren't trained to deal with that sort of reaction so then it becomes a police matter B) if the gates are shut and there is a crush from behind them some could get seriously hurt.
yeah you're right mate. It's not only extremely hard but also incredibly dangerous to try and stop a pitch invasion. It's much safer to just let it happen, then control the pitch with stewards around opposite fans. I'm not a steward but that's crowd safety 101
Maybe they are mate, but to avoid crushes/violence they have to just let it happen. You can only hold back loads of angry bald blokes on gear for so long before someone gets hurt
As a West Ham fan I love to hate Millwall, but, the people who pitch invaded are a minority of millwall fans, I am friends with millwall fans and they're not all scum, we as West Ham have scum fans in a minority as do most teams in the UK. Don't generalise all the fans of one club because of a percent of their fans. Come on you irons ⚒
Been to Millwall 2x to see Coventry, always glad to get away. Incidentally sad about the attendance. Cov took 43,000 for the tin pot checkatrade cup. and 32,000 Oxford . only 53K today. ! ( and supporting FGR also was good even though they only took 4.5K, the entire population of Nailsworth. )
AwayDays it's disgusting, its never happened at the new Wembley, or from when I've been born I don't recall a pitch invasion and the national stadium, so honestly action SHOULD be taken!
AwayDays personally feel sorry for all the Millwall fans that didn't and the players as you saw how much it meant to Morison in the interview how angry he was with it saying it ruined the moment they should of stayed in their seats and celebrated from the stands and let the players have their moment I have nothing against pitch invasions in league grounds! just don't think you should at Wembley
Rav V Mai Hen gwlad fy nhadau yn anywyyyyyyl iiii miiiii, gwlad beirdd a chantorion enwogion o fri, ei gwrol rhyfelwyr gwladgarwyr tra mad, dros rhyddid collasaaaaant einnn, gwaaaaaeeeeeed, GWLLLAAAAAAAAAAD.... See, we all know who has the better anthem
As a Portuguese that was kinda shocking xD I'm not really the patriotic kind of guy but all of us learn it in first or second grade, it's impossible not to know it. Isn't it the same in Britain?
Ellis, I like you, your videos and I am not even a football fan. I do think you however, were a bit harsh when you commented about the stewards role. I did stewarding for 4 and a half years at various clubs ( i.e. Bournemouth, Bristol City, Yeovil ) it can be a extremely difficult job to do at times, especially on big games where a lot is riding on it, like this one. Also, stewards are always going to be outnumbered by fans. For example, a steward could be placed on a stand with 2,000 people, it's still 20 against 1, it's virtually impossible to prevent these scenes from happening, unless you get fans on your side. You have to remember young man that these games would not able to take place if weren't for stewards.
It is unfortunate that Millwall will be fined for fans behaviour. ...fans who chose to break the law, ( it is an offence to enter the field of play). Also 13.28, it is also an offence to drink alcohol within sight of the pitch, what use was them stewards in your area. Congratulations Millwall
From a Millwall fan's perspective, the people you saw run onto the pitch today, they're not true Millwall. It's a shame it happened as it demoted the spirits of both the players and the fans. Good day out, happy I was there and we won but there's always something to spoil the fun.
AwayDays haha thanks man! i kept thinking "is Ellis gonna be here today?" 😂 ... thank you for trying to show a good side of millwall shame on the pitch invasion tho
Football fans need to stop crying over little things. Who cares if millwall fans pitch invaded they have just won promotion. I know full well if your team pitch invaded u would also do it. (Wolves Fan)
Your understanding of the rules that the stewards follow is very bad, explain how the 100+ fans are supposed to leave the field? Through the gates so the stewards have to wait till everyone leaves the pitch usually there is a tactic they will do to clear fans of the pitch the main one I have seen is the stewards will start in a semi circle formation slowly moving outwards and expanding this usually clears the pitch from a pitch invasion and it's not like the fans can leave any other way
Tell Proudie he looks like Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park But yeah trying to make a point of making Millwall fans look good in this didn't go to plan did it.
Calvin Vazquez I think it's a tradition or something like that. Anyways if you watch the other playoff matches in the previous Seasons I don't think they invaded the pitch when they won
It's not tradition the old Wembley was pitched invaded many times, if Bradford won and invaded the pitch no one would be calling for them to be kicked out of the league, call them scum.
Call that a pitch invasion? Check out what happened when Scotland beat England at Wembley in 1977. The ending of the 1980 Scottish Cup Final features another pitch invasion. Good video as always Eliis and valid reasoning for sitting with the Milwall fans. Look forward to your trip to the Den next season.
I'm a Bolton fan and we had a pitch invasion when we went up. Nobody really complained, just when a view idiots went on before the game had finished. We were asked several times on a tannoy not to run on but a lot of people in Facebook groups were saying they were running on. At first I didn't go on but everyone behind me in the stand was so I decided to join in, it lasted about 10 mins and some players got involved with the crowd. We were asked to leave to carry on celebrations with all the players etc. So we did. The only reason people are complaining with this is because Wembley is not their home turf, Millwall as a club will most likely have to pay for damages. So pitch invasions on home turf = okay Pitch invasions on other turf = wrong
someone has to liven up English football. Look at foreign clubs. Safe standing, drums, microphones, flares. So much better than boring England. Millwall are leading the way
As Millwall fan I've got nothing wrong with us invading the pitch I mean is just a flipping celebration obviously is not right to do it but only like two hundred out of 27k Millwall fans ran on the pitch, anyway a lot of people say stuff about us that we're scum and things like that, but I'll like anyone to go to Millwall games and see how friendly our fans r, no headlines when Millwall fans joined with Bradford when they clapped in respect to the fans that died in the fire at Bradford, only thing u see is "Millwall ran on the pitch" that's very stupid is just a celebration, don't blame it on Millwall blame it on the stewards that didn't do anything about it, good luck to Bradford for next season, that's my opinion
Embarrassing from Millwall, not the running on the pitch (that's to be expected), is was the lack of fans that were there. We brought more fans to both the jpt and the Checker-trade trophy final, as well as the blue square play-off final.
Great, unbiased view of Millwall fans.Even old skool thugs did not condone the pitch Invasion.Keep up the good work and you will Always be welcome at the Den.COYL.
My opinion on the Millwall fans that invaded the pitch: It was quite funny. Just my opinion, it takes bollocks to pitch invade at Wembley. It was stupid but when emotions are running high, you don't have control and football is a perfect example of that, proving that it's the best sport in the world
Oh piss off mate. Its old school. In a politically correct world you NEED Millwall fans to give the powers that be a gigantic bird. I personally loved it.
I don't have a huge problem with the pitch invasion, they did win promotion after all. If Bradford fans had done it, I doubt there would be such a fuss about it.
Personally im not a Millwall fan but i dont understand why they are so disliked, yeah they are meant to be aggressive and all that but i like that it brings an edge to the game adds a atmosphere. When it comes to a pitch invasion then i think its fine but just not at Wembley
I don't like millwall at all but every teams fans who invade a pitch no matter if it's Wembley or not is just showing there passion for their club yes it might seem stupid for some people but it's showing how much love you show for a club
