It's been quite some time since we heard a new AWEN tune, but you can expect a few interesting things coming up in the next couple of months…like an album for instance!
We couldn't wait till the album release, so we had to heat things up with this first single called Unstoppable.
An homage to the Black Lives Matter movement, AWEN's Unstoppable is a momentous rally cry that entrances listeners for nearly six minutes. Through this song, AWEN creates a compelling story about the inevitability of progress through persistence. Her lyrics center on continued resistance, and her melody is a perfect metaphor for her words, evolving every second with simple repeating elements. Unstoppable is created in collaboration with Candy Man, an emerging House and Afrotech producer from Pretoria, South Africa.
The original version is accompanied by two remixes;
A version by Daniel Rateuke - who needs no introduction - delivering his own clubbier vision of the track, and a downtempo remix created by Cehashi - who collaborated with Awen on the artistic direction of her album.
