Just an update folks. Firstly, thank you to Jon for posting a video with his thoughts on the accessories. More stock is due in approx a week if anyone is wanting one, you can sign up to notifications to be alerted when it is back in stock.
These accessories have just delivered the knock-out blow to the Rupes Nano in my opinion. I’ve been using them for a couple of weeks now and the PXE can finally reach every part of the car, including tricky areas of alloys.
Bought a PXE a few weeks ago. It’s amazing. I wish I had bought one much sooner. I’ve bought some of the APS accessories direct from APS in Germany. Their 75mm backing plate is far better quality than the Flex original. The prices are way better than the UK. Delivery is not cheap, but the savings make up for it.
Jon, i think it is ok to use non-standard accessories as long as we dont crank her up all the way and use it at a conservative power load. Furthermore, when i was tinkering around i did burn a very tiny section of paint with the rotary on level 1 or 2. Luckily, it was under the boot lid, so you litterally cant see it unless you open the boot, and its such a minor burn you cant even see it. good lesson though.
well to be honest if you spoke to flex they may well say no its not ok, because they have no tested or qualified their tool with these accessories. This is more relevent to the 50ml rotary plate. but in reality its just a little attachment. but you are taking a leap of faith that APS has tested this well. Im sure they have.
You’re the man because I tried and bought the one on eBay four months ago and they never shipped it. I contacted the seller who told me he’d have it in 7 days after waiting a month after the delivery date and they never responded. I got a refund so it was no big deal but I wanted the extensions. And the 2” backing plate. Shipping to the US I guess is the issue.

nice one guys. thank you for engineering this solution, it really does add a lot of value to the nano tool and allow you to do things you cannot do (and need to do without the adapters). Love it when people see a problem and solve a problem. brilliant.
😍😍😍😍😍😍 Im loving these, as you said, flex havent made these for the PXE 80 yet. This is what we need :D, excellent work John! you robbed me of some more money haha, but its well spent on these!
@forensic detailing channel finally purchased my first pxe thanks to you 😎 I'm just adding these accessories and pads to my basket to go with my tool and have a question u know this aps fva50 for the cone pads if I buy that can I remove the end cone attachment part and just use the bar as an extension like the fv50 extension bar 🤔 I could save £11 if it works beach's they look the same
s2 black is nice, s2 shock is much more agressive and not as smooth as black. I would personally go with S2 black. The question is really as a guy at home S3, S20, S40 is probably good enough. S2 yes it will give more cut but theres not much in it. So I guess you can switch out S3 for S2. Scholl concepts abrasives are good products dave.
One question. So you cant use those M14 flex made extension shafts which they have for the rotary (on your flex wall as well) and add an M14, 2-inch disc on there?????
Hey Jon, just wanted to say ive recently found your channel after wanted to getting into how to wash my car properly after only ever taking it to drive throughs before not realising the damage its doing! For the last couple weeks i ive gone through pretty much every single one of your videos, you are absolutely amazing and the best channel ive found, even my wife is starting to laugh along with some of your accidental jokes and puns! Keep up the great work you have a new huge fan of your channel, p.s my car is now looking brand new and protected up to the back teeth thanks to your guides and recommendations!
@@ForensicDetailing Hi Jon, quick question, just got into properly cleaning my car, got a brand new black car about 6 weeks ago, the day I got it I clay barred it then used AG SRP, followed by BH double speed-wax(based on your recommendation). My question is, how do I know when to re apply the products again and how do I know if the polish and wax is removed or does it matter?? I have been washing using AG Polar wash about 50/50. Every weekend. So about 6 washes. Thanks in advance! 👍👍
Hi Jon! I’m just wondering your opinion... I have a 12mm free spinning DA, and a mini rotary (1,2 and 3” BP). I’m just wondering if you think that the XCE will provide a noticeably faster/better cut when compared to the free spinning DA? I’d like to eventually get the PXE, XFE AND XCE but can’t afford to buy all at once, so wondering what would be the best order to buy them in. TIA mate!
Man , I needed a translator for this guy...I’m not up on my UK lingo 😂. Thanks for the info though. Do you have any links to US sellers ? These guys don’t seem to ship internationally
hello Jon, just received the PXE in the mail. Your videos are very informative. have had a problem finding the 1 and 2 inch pads and the cones. Tried Ali baBa and others. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jim
Jon, what do you think of the G360 super fast compound and the compound finish. How are the products, is it what you expect from it, or do you recommend something else? Im looking for something new.
Hi, any idea whether the ShineMate mpk-3 mini polisher kit will fit on this machine? I have the ibrid nano (I’m willing to replace it) and my 3” polisher is crap, I’m looking to upgrade it to the rupes and I need to get a rotary polisher for that kit, however if I this machine accepts both then I can kill 2 birds with one stone
Can I just ask your advice? Is it always necessary to machine polish after machine compound, or can I bypass the polishing and go straight to hand wax from the compound stage? Thanks very much
you can polish a car to any standard you like. most human eyes will not be able to tell the difference in finish between a good high gloss heavy cutting compounds like H8 and a finishing polish. But its not just about the level of gloss. When you compound you typically do it with stiffer coarser pads or wool pads or microfiber pads and you can get whats called compound marring, or machine marring from compounding. so a lot of times you then switch to soft foam pad and finishing polish to take out compound marring. let me make it simple though, if you are a "detailer" I personally do not think leaving a high gloss finish from a cutting compound is acceptable really. you should finish it out or use a single stage product like perfect finish or S20.
I was kinda bummed when I found out that you couldn't use it like a rotary on the 75 plate, and no marketing pointed that one out. So I drilled a hole in it! Just be easy with too much pressure and it works like a charm imho. No overheating issues on my use.
there must be a reason rickard but Im half tempted to do the same. its a small machine it might be asking a lot of the tool to drive a 75 plate in all scenarios.
@@ForensicDetailing Rumours say that the early prototype had it running the 75 as rotary. Also in the early vids they claimed the 50mm plate to include as well in the package, bummer! Maybe they pulled the 75mm rotary away if they can't guarantee it spinning a full-day at a shop. But being a amateur polisher not polishing everyday I think it should hold for my use. Have a go and make a video about it!
The pin in the rotary attachment is just a pipe pin. Put a pair of pliers on it and pull it out. It’s very easily done, no glue or nothing. I suspekt it was done this way so it would be possible for people that wanted it, but to eliminate the possibility for errors by people assembling them by accident. The tool itself works perfectly fine as a 3 inch rotary.
no 7-12 is on another leve of grunt and power. there has to be a comparmise. the pxe is a nano tool with remarkable grunt for something so small but its still a nano tool. 7-12 mains powered bigger motor much more torque.
its more powerfull, has a much better mechanism for swapping plates or adapter, its cheaper, the batteries I think are better. But also with the 75ml plate on the 12ml adapter, it works very very very well as a standard 3 inch mini and you will find a lot of areas on the car where its perfect for. the nano was a more intricate tool though. This extention bars and cone adapter really do bridge that one area where the rupes was better.
Soon as you showed the cone, was 99% sure you were going to say Wheel spokes. Anyone with painted wheels would say that first I’m sure. They need correcting to, chips and marring same as panels, minimum once a year. Can’t get in everywhere with an iBrid..
Lesley Smith , the mini polisher is indeed a flex, which he reviewed about a year ago. This video is about the accessories made by a 3rd party for this polisher, hence not a flex product. In the last year I see 3 videos about flex, so he’s hardly pushing the brand.
