I bought the T14-EQ recently, and I tried it. It is a very good phono preamp. At the phono preamp, set the volume control to high zero (barely turned on), and turn the volume at the power amp or active speakers to high, the floor noise at the speakers was very low, and I could barely hear anything, unless I put my ears close to the speaker diaphragm. The sound is great too. Highly recommended.
Purchased the T-14 EQ for my Fluance RT83 turntable. I'm getting a rather annoying hum from the T-14. The TT is grounded to the preamp using their ground posts. But I get hum even when the TT is disconnected from the RCA inputs, so it's not the TT causing it. I'm thinking that the T-14 using a USB-C cord to a 2-prong power block is the problem. A ground wire connecting the TT and the preamp, but not extending to the wall socket, isn't actually grounded. The Fluance's power cord is only 2-prong also.
Check the RCAs are seated all the way. And maybe check the DIP setting underneath. But that's odd with a 2 prong cord. Could also be a defective unit. I don't get hum with my TT.
Ciao Roberto, purtroppo no. Questo preamplificatore è solo di livello Phono. Non dispone di ingresso a livello di linea. Forse guarda Ampapa A1. Grazie per la visione.
I think sometimes either people might have the dip switches set incorrectly or have a noisy power supply. Sometimes I get a hiss if I use the wrong power brick. But normally it's dead silent.👍
No, this is a Phono Preamp only. For Smartphone/Tablet/Laptop, you would need a Line Level Preamp. I'm currently testing the Ampapa A1 that has both Lime and Phono inputs, but it's over double the price at $140, but very cool. Here's a link: amzn.to/3O46MDY
I was negatively impressed when I connected the Little Bear to a Rega and a pair of Aiyima 07 Max. The sound was dull and muddy. I had to turn the treble all the way up to hear something close to what is expected from an RIAA equalization. I even believe that my unit might have been defective. I requested a refund.
I had the same issue not realising I did not turn the switches on the bottom part of the Douk pre amp to MM setting (cause my cartridge on the turntable is MM). Did you try that?
Ahh. It looks like that turntable has fixed RCA cables. Some companies add the ground in the RCA cable ground. So you don't have to worry about grounding the PHONO Preamp. That's only there to remove ground hum from the turntable. You're good to go.
I hear you. That's the direction a lot of components are going. Not just phones anymore. I see both arguments for it. I personally have a tone of 5V/2A USB power supplies, however I'd be a little frustrated if I didn't and just got this thinking it was included. It's the old "batteries not included" all over again. Lol.
