This guy is revealing tricks that you would probably have never figured out without this video and your bitching that he has a boring voice? Whatever man this guy rocks!

fabulous licks and techniques, carl! one thing I really value is that you don't spoon feed your lessons. you gotta see the lick, hear it and work it. I guess with 173 dislikes its not for everybody.

Thanks a bunch, Carl. I appreciate your lessons and as I usually play older stuff, enjoy something a bit more modern. keep up the good work!

Thanks for including the right hand pick mapping. Critical for me as I have a reverse attack and favor upstrokes 🤔

Thanks for this stuff. It's invaluable. I've never messed with economy picking at ALL. Tough after years of strict up/down.

That sounds like a good one to do to me. I think a lot of players would like to see some Slash tutorials so I will get to work on something and have it up in the near future. Thanks for watching!!

I tell ya.. I never dreamed when I first watched this lesson that my focus would be turned and tuned towards my mindless picking habits.. The economy ideas has really been a great challenge!! I think this will really be helpful in the long run.. I just pray for the patience to keep working on it! THANK YOU!!

You're a great teacher:) Thanks for posting this. I've learned a lot. The beauty of guitar is that we're all from different parts of the earth but we all wanna get better and that is what separates the people who wanna be famous from the real musicians. I'm just sitting here in my guitar teaching room at 2am watching foxes walk by the window here in Northern Canada and playing EJ. Life is good. Cheers man:) Roxx

Thanks for the lessons, I have watched quite a few of yours. Practicing these patterns, or any other similar, how long did it take you before you could play it as fast as Eric? And how much time did you spend on it. I am a 3 year player and need some type of 'guage' lets say.

Really enjoyed this lesson, it's the first I've ever seen for EJ where it feels like it's actually very close to what he does (or maybe it's even the same, it's so fast who can tell). Some Steve Vai lessons in this same mould would be fantastic, maybe focusing on his tapping licks.

Nice lesson there! I think EJ picks every note when he does six note groupings straight down the pentatonic scale though, not pull offs, which is strangely easier for me to do than pulling off.

The funny thing is that the first part is a typical Ritchie Blackmore run: just listen to Strange Kind of Woman - the intro is the same! There is nothing new under the sun. Btw I love both guitarists... the rhythm of the soloing above is very Blackmore(ish) partially when played a bit slower
