I have researched both & gotten quotes. The La Cantina are considerably more expensive, and they are also true bi-fold, meaning if you want to open them, you have to open all the panels at once.... kind of all or nothing. Both companies offer an outswing "man door" that can be place on the right and/or left end so if you don't want to open all the glass, and you just want to be able to go outside, you can use only the door. But Panoramic is unique in that each of its panels operates independently... so in his case, he can open one, two, three, four, or all five panels depending on what he wants to do. With LaCantina, you would have to open the four bi-folds all at once, plus the man door.
The company offers both a flush mount (barely visible above grade) channel or an "upstand" option. Looks like he chose the upstand. He said he lives in the Bay Area (CA). While they don't get hurricanes there, CA does get flooding from rain from time to time. As you can see from his video, he has a pool only a few feet away. It also looks like he has wood floors. He probably chose the higher threshold out of caution to make sure in case his pool over flows, or there is a substantial amount of rain, water can't easily get into his house. \

I have a question , did you have to submit plans to your city to get permits and so how much did that cost . I got quote for doors and for demo and installation. Just wondering what would be cost for permits . Thank you
@@MrMusic1over they are fianlly installing tomorrow . because of shipping delay from manufacture . my cost is ruffly about 26k installed . the doors did go up because of the frame and screen door thats a added cost.
For these 5 panels, which are 16 feet wide and 8 feet tall, the cost was $10,500. That's not terrible, considering that we looked at a sliding glass door that was 8x8 and that would have cost $14,000. Construction is a bigger part of the cost -- we opened up an entire wall, took out 3 windows, put in a support beam, and relocated electrical/plumbing; that cost an additional $20K.
@@theartofchan7806 $10500 including the bug screen, thats a great deal you got. for me it is quoting $18500. Did you get aa discount? between now and a year back the cost should not have gone up by 80%
