Great job guys! I love the idea of a wood box underneath the hearth. I was looking for an idea to raise the height on the hearth... and you just gave it to me....Thank you! If you can share any measurements I would appreciate it. Thank you for sharing.
Great looking fireplace. It looked as though there was a gap between the firebox and the outside surrounding cinder block after you added rectangular cap stones around the firebox. The blocks did not look like they were set flush on the outside of the firebox. Is there a reason for this design? Or did I view it incorrectly?
Did you just made your own plan? I hate free styling and out the fly. Learned my mistake. I just want to know how many bricks, measurement, more of building instruction. It’s nice tho.
seems like his busy, well it looks like I am about to measure hollow blocks and start plotting my area, once I build mine, i'll share the list and dimension, hopefully its a success, if not, i'll still share my failure=)
Good job Jon, looks awesome. Whats the heat like coming out of the fire? how far away can you sit an still benefit? and how high did you build the chimney ?
Hi Jon -- Great and informative video. Can you tell me how thick you made the concrete between the wood storage and the hearth? I'd estimate it's about 4" but not sure.
Assuming a person is doing the work them self, along with some friends for assistance, what would a reasonable financial investment in a project of similar scale?
The materials alone are approx $4000-4500 USD ($5500 CAD). This Fireplace fully built by a professional brick layer, including the materials was $8000 USD ($10K CAD)
Fantastic footage! it also looks amazing, I am sure you spend a lot of time watching your wood burn. I did a similar one with a bar and bbq, we all have our favorite things to do, mine is sitting by the fire relaxing as much as possible. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m4r6Kr1Plno.html
