This is a fantastic video! It was very informative and help me make the decision about which echinacea would be best in my yard. I also like that you got down to business with sharing information! Thank you.
I love coneflowers & have 5 that I’ve either split or have come back from dropped seeds from 1 Cheyenne spirit I purchased. I have mostly sun so get lots of tips from watching your videos. Thanks so much 😊
I love coneflowers and blackeyed Susan’s. And so do the Japanese beetles and earwig bugs. I have several plants in my gardens and the bugs devour them every year. I do spray with Neem Oil which helps a little. Your gardens are beautiful!
It can be an interesting game when you pick something up that has the wrong tag 🤪 Though I have some pale yellow blooms starting, so it's still a wait and see.
I got sun seeker rainbow coneflower from lows and planted where it gets 5-6 hours direct sunlight. After 2 days it got badly dried up. I don’t n ow what happened. Your flowers are looking beautiful!
@googleuser3642 oh noooo!! I'm sorry to hear that, that's a huge bummer!! They should be absolutely fine in that amount of light, so I wonder if they were really water deprived at the store? Ugh. Thank you for reaching out!
Hi there! Somehow your message slipped through the cracks and I missed it until now - I'm sorry about that! Those Hostas were given to me from my mom, so I'm not sure of the variety, but they are nothing fancy or exotic. They do better in less sun than I have them in and they show heat stress this time of year. I have a lot of them because I always divide and transplant, so I test them in different light conditions. Sorry I wasn't more helpful!
You have magnificent plants. Here, in Swizerland, the choice is not so wide. I've collected seeds... but germination is very very difficult. I have tried many ways with very little success. Do you have a tip?
Hi there! What is the weather like for the most part where you are? I assume you've tried in sunnier locations and shadier ones, so besides weather, I'm wondering if soil could be a problem? I had better luck growing in rich soil than I do in the sandy soil I have now.
You really made me think with this question, as that had not occurred to me, and I've never had that problem. My thought is if both plants have room, there shouldn't be competition in that way. I have both flowers NEAR each other, but not super close that this would have been a concern. Thanks for the great question!
Yes, I fertilize them. My black-eyed susans are crazy growers, so I could fertilize them or not, but all the kinds of Echinacea I definitely do. 😄 Good luck, I hope yours look awesome!
It's so pretty. I live in Louisiana......so I know the heat and humidity very well and what it does to plants. We went almost 60 days without a drop of rain July--part of September 😢
@@jennylynn5307 the lack of rain is awful!! Hope you are now getting a break from the insane heat like we are in Southeastern NC! Both us and our plants need it!!
Open-pollinated seeds (so ones we're currently growing outside) can be saved and grow true to type. When you save the seed from the variety you are growing, and replant the next year, it will grow the same. Unless you mean starting the plants from seeds initially? Which I don't do myself. Sorry if I misunderstood.
