Eventually it cures but the timber should always be sealed first. Also it depends on what exactly it is your doing. Something like this is fine if the timber is sealed and the table is sealed once it has cured. Preventing any moisture getting drawn back in by the concrete hence sealing it. All in all don't know why he just didn't use the bricks.
These pallet “how to” videos crack me up. I have never seen a pallet that looked like that. The pallets I have always received were dirty, cracked, broken, slats were not full boards, and the beams were painted.
Great job! Ingenious! ....people out there have to realise that not everybody in this world has a walmart down the road and a welfare check to cash, or pickup still-good-quality used or free stuff off the side of the road - they simply make do with what they can get their hands on. Kudos to people who get off their butt and do something, they are usually NOT the ignorant ones..
Pretty sure the video is supposedly making a pallet into a table and all he did was pour concrete all over it and toss tiles onto the top of it. If that's "ingenious" to you then I've got a bunch of stuff I can pour concrete onto and a lot of left over tiles from when I redid my bathroom.

Wouldn't it be easier to first paint the pallet and than assemble with tiles? And paint cans will rust like crazy in no time. So next time you sit on you'll fall.
I said the same thing hahaha. My conclusion is they call themselves "synthetic construction", kind of synonymous to fake or imitation, crappy work and no thought to the process or longevity of the product.
The bond between the tile and pallet has got to be very weak. Not likely to last more than a month with any rain. Wood will swell and break the small bit of adhesion there is.
I thought the same thing. I think you would need to make sure the pallet is really dried out and then maybe a coat of polyurethane to make sure it can’t absorb water?
@@solaris025 correct, warping is caused by only one side of the Timber being sealed or painted and the other is exposed to heat and moisture. Can't understand why he just doesn't use the bricks instead.
This is not recycling. Getting a 2nd hand table or just making one out of an old door or something is. The production of concrete is incredibly bad for the environment, he would me far better off buying a new one environmentally speaking. Also the table is shit and the chair legs will rust away in a few months. There are no redeeming factors whatsoever

Are tiles and cement free of charge? Wil the tiles & skirting pieces fit the wood perfectly and require no cutting? At the end, you need to bend your back and sit on the floor.
Paint cans are useless and would of been easier to glue the tiles to a flat pallet too so no steel and concrete involved, lighter and 1/4 or the time and cheaper. Looks ok but too much stuffing about for what it is 🤦♂️
Could have been done extremely simple. All the concrete and pallet and tiles ect is way overboard. Even abit of thick ply with the tiles glued on and its done in 10 minutes.
There you go! And, not to drag this on forever, but a table and a seat 6 inches off the ground? I find more comfortable rocks to sit on when I am camping.
This is a cool video. You might want to consider how the palet's "feet" will react to being wet over time though. Sitting down on a wet surface, they might experience rot over time. Cool project though. Thanks for sharing!

Their idea might have a few issues, but they're creating, sharing and making the world a cooler and more intersting place. All I know about you is that you watch other people's videos and gripe about them. Create more, complain less.

@@jakesmerth1919 I've built 6 houses over the past coupel decades. I know construction, and I agree with you that this design has some potential issues. But being a wet towel about it is just a lame and lazy way to go about life. The people who made this video actually got up off their butts and did something, and that's pretty great - even if their design might not be perfect. Too many people sit around and create nothing. When someone puts in the effort to make something, I think it's deserving of a little respect - even if it may not be perfect.
