You demoed the functions well but as a tip I will advice users to not play complicated when learning the Trio+. Simple bassline or chords are enough. Thats because Trio+ have a tendency to get way to bizzy. I use the Trio a lot and its a great tool for songwriting or learning.
Thank you so much. I have had a Trio+ for some months now and could never get it to work properly. The instructions and manual are equally unclear and, although I have watched a lot of videos about what you can do on the Trio+, you are the only person who has actually taken the time to explain all the tiny steps required to record a multi-section song. Very much appreciated. I think I may be able to record my songs now using Trio+, Greg
Just LOVE this pedal EVEN STILL TODAY‼️✨🎛🎵🎸👍🏾😎 Use it for Songwriting,..Practice to gain the essence of various Genres,..and of course,..LIVE Professionally ‼️🤘🏾🤣It gets it done in my view!!,..got plenty of MicroSD Cards full of Covers (Original Tunes too!).. to prove it!! ☝🏾Would love to check out your stuff on video if they are out now! 🤘🏾😁
I learned two things today. I have had my trio for two years but I never could understand how to get the most out of it until today. Thank you so much. The second thing I learned was how to send a comment on a video that I enjoyed and found helpful. I was so pleased with what you taught me that I just had to say thank you. I am a new subscriber. Bob Bass from Wilmington, NC.🎸🎸🎸🎸
Great video, wish there was an easy way to get the tempo of the different sections to match. I know you can get a metronome for the count in, but still seems like an area for improvement on subsequent pedals. Curious to know what it's like to transfer files from the SD card, and if they are easy to identify and load into a Daw?
Hi Christopher...Thinking of buy a Trio+ for loop from synths, grooveboxes and drum machines...Guessing if the invest of money will be rewarded...Any comments will be appreciated. Best regards.
@@wasntborntofollow hey I haven’t tried it. I believe they want 350 for it. I’ve decided that if I can’t master the multiple drum machines I have… I should just reevaluate what I’m trying to do. there’s physical kits for basically the same price!
Can I get a pedal that is separate that I can plug my guitar in and would produce bass guitar Rythm according to what my guitar is playing? I thought it was a separate pedal it would work better than digitech Trio +, in terms of sound and better pattern Rythm generation.
When the looper automatically starts recording at the next bar, do you HAVE to start your loop then, or can you wait around to the next one? Or the next one, until your ready, and it’ll just recognize when you stop? And how precise do you have to be when hitting the switch the record the initial part on “band?”
When you are recording the first layer of guitar, it will record for just the number of measures that were already recorded by the rythym layer and then stop. If you have the pedal set to auto record, it won't start recording the guitar until you start playing (but it also won't play the rhythm track either until the recording gets triggered by your guitar). Subsequent overdubs; however, can be laid down continually, layer upon layer (loop upon loop) without turning the recording or the rhythm off. Hopefully this helps.
Please, I bought the Digitech Trio Band + Looper and I could not correctly save only the beats on the 12 memory banks. I record 2 or 3 different rhythms using the red song button. When I access the bank via the style knob, the pace is different. The manual does not explain clearly how to do it. Can you help me? If possible mentioning the step by step.
@@ReidsReviews Yes, I record several rhythms and save in memories from 1 to 12 through the style knob by pressing the song button. When I go to them they are in different rhythms. I already had the RC-3 from Boss and it was very easy to record. I think I should be writing the wrong way.
Hi there, I would appreciate if you answer to my question. If I got already a looper, is it still a good idea to get trio+ band creator or just trio band creator would be enough in this case? The price gap is pretty significant, and I would like to have the big picture here. Thank you :)
My 2 cents.... the Plus is worth the the additional $. It's extremely convenient to be able to integrate the guitar track along with the drum and bass tracks. It keeps the tempo and measure count in sync and in general makes it so you can save off the entire song... drums, guitar and bass to a computer from the sd card (using some software). There are also some nice additions with the plus (more genres, different bass modes etc.) You may want to consider picking up a used pedal from ebay or reverb to reduce the additional cost. My opinion.
Thanks for the comment! The nice thing is that it adds a bass line as well. For access to my library of reviews, don't forget to subscribe :) ru-vid.com/show-UC50M5kowQE905DDpz5g98tg
It will save your song parts for you. Also, unlike a lot of loopers, the comolete song will also be saved automatically. You don't need to worry about it disappearing when you move to a new memory slot. To move to a new memory slot, there is a button labeled song to the bottom left of the style button. When that is selected, the style knob turns into a memory slot changer. Just be careful not to hold you finger down too long on the song button or it will erase the song currently selected.
I don't think they have yet. They have for the original trio though. For access to my library of reviews don't forget to subscribe :) ru-vid.com/show-UC50M5kowQE905DDpz5g98tg
It will still be on, but both the bass and rhythm have volume knobs so you could just turn them all the way down. Don't forget to subscribe :) ru-vid.com/show-UC50M5kowQE905DDpz5g98tg
Agreed, the two main knobs are a bit touchy... the delete part when pressing the band switch works for me, but i often forget to stop the playback before trying to delete.
The style knob doubles as the song storage selector. The button below and left of the style knob titled "song" needs to be pushed, then the style knob changes to the song storage selector. To the playback or record on the selected track you need to push the song button again briefly so it is no longer red. Hope this helps.
Digitech should either manufacture a powerbank suitable for their pedals or design the pedals according to existing powerbanks. (I can understand that it becomes more expensive if a pedal has to have the battery option...)
Thank you for your quick answer. I’m undecided between the Boss RC10-R & the Trio +. Both have a powerful drums sounds, the clarity of choice of the Genre & Style on the Trio on stage is a plus; and being able to copy and paste a part on the Boss is a plus, can we do this action on the Trio+ ?
There is some some software that can do this. You need to use the mini SD card to move the songs to a computer then you can copy the songs to other memory slots on the sd card and then put the sd card back in the pedal. If you haven't watched my video on the 10R it might be helpful to check out.
@@ReidsReviews just to make sure if I understood: 1- the drums will not play unless I START playing at least 4 measures on my guitar, 2- turning off the bass & the Looper volume in order to keep the drums playing alone. The QUESTION now : can I keep playing the drums pattern that I have chosen continually, let’s say for 10 minutes or more? Thanks again for your answers.
IMO. this is unusable in a live show, you got to tweak it in a major way to make it even close to what you are looking for, impossible in a live setting Reid I love your tutorials but this Digitech doesn't do what my duo needs it to do in a stage setting imho.
If you master this pedal, you could easily perform live with it, and count on it more than your band. You have to pre-record your complete songs by creating sequences. Once done, you can play 12 tracks live that only require 1 press on the foot switch you can buy for a few bucks more, going from one song to the next. Keep entire set lists on their own sd cards, and just swap them out .
@@RADERFPV I'd love to see that done, I can't even begin to see how it could possibly work in a live setting with a duo a band or anything else. I'll take my band ANY day over that stupid thing.
@@normcote270 ha ha, I feel ya. Nothing substitutes real musicians, that's for sure. But you really can pull it off, it's all about having the songs setup ahead of time, so it's all pre-recorded and there are zero surprises. All of the learning parts have to be done way ahead of time, no on the fly stuff, that's for home. I'm starting up a music channel very soon, like in the next week, and will be doing a few videos on the more advanced capabilites of this old pedal. I'll be using this thing mostly for making backing tracks for my drone videos I currently post, that's what it's really good for. But yes, no substitute for talented human beings, lol.
Very informative review. I’m interested in one of these, mostly for the singer/songwriter aspect but I’m not sure if it’s worth the $450🇨🇦 price tag. Not to mention , Namm is approaching and perhaps a new model coming. It does look slick and all, but rather pricey. How do you find it for song creation ?
I think it is a great tool for capturing a rough draft of a song. After you've captured your song, on playback it is a great practice tool for jamming scales against. You should look at getting a used one on ebay or reverb... it'll save you some $.
Reid's Reviews great, thanks for the info and idea. I went online and did find one new with accompanying pedal for a good deal out of USA via Reverb. Really looking forward to it arriving. Can you tell me, if you tune down a half step ( or whole) will the bass still match the key? Thanks again. Lance
