Sometimes we can learn from comics that are absurd. This is one of them. Dynamite Thor is a superhero whose power is to throw sticks of dynamite at problems. Golden Age comics would often try ridiculous things like that so we take a look at this strange Fox Features Syndicate comic book from 1940.

Interestingly, Victor Fox himself may have been the inspiration for Batman's Penguin. He was short, dressed nicely, and spoke with a British accent. He also once spat on Bob Kane's shoe. Not the nicest guy to work for. Jim Steranko once said Fox Comics were considered "poverty row" back in the day, and this one really shows it. On the plus side, however, Fox did give Jack Kirby his first real job, and he also employed Matt Baker, one of the first black comic artists in the buisness. We need to remember this stuff, or we'll just continue to make the same mistakes they did. Hopefully there isn't going to be a Dynamite Thor movie. Hopefully.

Just be aware that if it really takes off, you'll be sharing the character with anyone else who decides to do literally anything with the character you popularized. And they'll probably heavily reference the original aspects that you inevitably create yourself (and you'll have a hard time drawing that line in a court of law if you try to pursue it). So go into it knowing that you're sharing Dynamite Thor with the world, and let go of any kind of jealousy or possessiveness about the character NOW before the success comes later. Good luck!
