Just curious, how long were you on? Was it just at night to sleep?, or throughout the day, everyday? I know everyone is different, but just grasping at straws here😵💫
@@ellejrrn8116What time of day is the worst for you? For me, nights were awful. It was more awful than the day. So I always took my much smaller dose at night. Hang in there. ❤
Keep your dog. Walking your dog is good for your withdraw. Find the horizon to view as often as possible. Giving and accepting affection often with your dog is healing. right there with you.
Walking has been good for my ritalin withdrawal as well. Honestly I don't think any drug rehab protocol can be good for a 20 year benzo prescription. That is crazy long. Btw, why are the frames on your wall empty?
Thank you for explaining what it feels like…I was on Klonopin for 20 years myself. Coming off was the most terrifying experience of my life and I’m still in recovery about 1.5yrs off…
Someone who was on 12 years and taken off too abruptly in only 5 days now 21 months later suffering every minute of the day and rather be dead. Extremely sleepy, pulsating and pressure on my brain 24/7 non stop since June 2022. Can’t see, vision dim, chronic dry eyes m, eyes are in pain feels like someone stabbing me in my eyes. Can’t drive anymore, struggle to walk. All because my doctor took me off klonopin in 5 days.
Meetings are pointless for anxiolotics. The withdrawals are horrific. I had that severe ringing in the ears. Lost 3.5 stone severe insomnia and turned yellow. My blood count was severely low..i just very nearly collapsed and died through exhaustion.
The VA took me off of a benzo that I took as prescribed, 1mg a night for insomnia cold turkey after twenty years. I can't even explain the torture for years, seizures, chronic full body nerve pain, akathesia, insomnia and more. I don't know how I am still alive, 7 years later and better but still bed/house bound. I begged to reinstate and taper but they refused; told me I was bipolar and told me it was all in my head, no such thing as a benzo withdrawal lasting more than a few weeks; hospitalized me 5 times and poly drugged me. I would imagine hell to be an equivalent experience. Complete and utter torture.
I’m coming off on my own been on since 1995. These videos are encouraging.. I was only on .75 of klonopin I never went up but I naturally went down as I needed it less as time went on. I hardly take any now .
No one believed me, no doctors nor.my parents and everyone thinks one is just faking it and being weak and not trying hard enough, when one is simply just surviving second to second not even knowing how.
I keep trying and thinking about how I will ever get off of Benzos. I've gone off clonazepam and that took 10 yrs and was terrible. I'm still taking ativan so Benzos have been a part of my life for just under 40 yrs. I believe that the only way I'll be free of Benzos is when I'm no longer breathing 😢
The Ashton method is highly successful for tapering off over a long period of time. a rapid method is stop all benzos - acute withdrawal, nearly to the point of seizure and start on Phenobarbital
This is the first time in all my research that phenobarbital is even mentioned. Are people really treating benzo dependence with phenobarbital? I don't get it. What is it like to withdraw from phenobarbital?
@@MollyBrown-f9i kolmac clinic in the mid-atlantic usa area uses the phenobarbital method - stating, the phenobarbital provides an "umbrella" over the receptors that would normally cause a withdrawal or seizures at he benzo level. the phenobarbital is dispensed @ 33.5 mg per dose x how much benzo & type - ex: Valium vs Xanax, Ativan vs klonipin etc. and patient 'tapers' down in two - five weeks without seizures / death
